Job Description

Head of Marketing & Automation

Devoted Studios

Role Description Devoted Studios is looking for a senior marketing leader — someone with deep industry experience, genuine creative taste, and the operational discipline to run a high-performing business function. This role requires a true business partner to the founder, raising the bar on existing practices, ensuring alignment with business priorities, and building the automation infrastructure for efficiency. We are looking for someone who lives and breathes automation, sees inefficiency and removes it, and leverages AI, workflows, and data to create leverage at scale. This is a high-expectation role for a high-output leader. Key Responsibilities: - Social Media Oversight & Production Alignment: - Ensure social content reflects real production capacity and upcoming milestones. - Own the connection between production updates and public communications. - Coordinate directly with clients on material approvals and IP permissions. - Enforce a zero-tolerance standard on publishing unapproved content. - Keep sales informed and ensure marketing supports capacity visibility. - AI & Automation: - Design and deploy AI-powered workflows — n8n, Make, or equivalent. - Automate content repurposing across podcast, social, email, and blog. - Build dashboards for real-time visibility without manual reporting. - Automate production-to-marketing handoffs and client approval tracking. - Identify and eliminate manual processes from the marketing function. - Team Leadership & Accountability: - Lead a team of experienced marketing professionals and take full ownership of their delivery. - Set clear priorities, run tight delivery cadences, and hold the team accountable. - Provide weekly reporting to the founder — short, clear, numbers-driven. - Manage contractors, agencies, and external vendors. - Oversee website, brand assets, decks, client materials, and merch. - Oversee community management in coordination with community leads. - Manage onboarding for new team members and contractors. - Devoted Speakeasy Podcast: - Maintain editorial quality and brand consistency. - Oversee guest pipeline and production cadence. - Ensure podcast content is amplified across other channels. - Keep the tone and positioning true to the podcast's identity. - Brand & Strategic Direction: - Evolve brand positioning in line with business growth. - Maintain quality standards across all external-facing touchpoints. - Support conference presence, merch, and partnership materials. - Contribute strategic thinking on marketing's business impact. Qualifications - 10+ years in marketing, with meaningful time leading teams. - Experience working closely with founders or senior leadership. - Strong brand instinct and understanding of brand relevance. - Highly structured and delivery-focused without being bureaucratic. - Comfortable being direct with team, clients, and leadership. - Deep hands-on experience with AI and automation tools (n8n preferred). - Solid grasp of analytics, dashboards, and performance reporting. - Experience managing paid channels (Google, Meta, LinkedIn) and SEO basics. - Proven ability to manage external contractors and agencies. Nice to Have - Background in GameDev, art production, or the broader creative industry. - Experience with B2B marketplaces or talent platforms. - Email marketing platform experience (Mailchimp, GetResponse, or similar). What Success Looks Like - Social media content is accurate, timely, and connected to business activities. - AI and automation have increased output and reduced manual work. - Leadership has full visibility without needing to ask. - The team delivers with discipline, and the founder trusts the function completely. - The Devoted brand continues to grow in influence and quality. Benefits - Strong and enthusiastic team with opportunities for knowledge sharing and professional development. - Interesting and challenging tasks, engaging with diverse issues and partners. - Convenient working conditions, including remote work and flexible hours. - Opportunity to work in a dynamic team on international Game Production projects. - Attractive remuneration package and professional development opportunities. Company Description Devoted Studios is a globally remote development company specializing in Co-development, Porting, and End-to-End Art Production for the global gaming industry. We collaborate across time zones to support projects on all major platforms, engines, and styles — from AAA titles to emerging technologies. Our team includes world-class talents who bring deep expertise in external development, pipeline optimization, and creative problem-solving. We are proud to be the development partner of choice for industry leaders such as Epic, Xbox, Meta, Obsidian Entertainment, Riot, and Gearbox Software.
