Role Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper with experience in Xero and New Zealand accounting practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, and ensuring compliance with relevant NZ regulations. Key Responsibilities - Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records - Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable and receivable - Reconcile bank and credit card accounts - Process invoices, payments, and payroll (if applicable) - Prepare and manage GST returns in accordance with New Zealand regulations - Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes - Generate financial reports as required - Liaise with accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders - Ensure compliance with New Zealand financial and tax requirements Qualifications - Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role - Hands-on experience with Xero accounting software - Solid understanding of New Zealand accounting standards and GST - Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy - Good organizational and time management skills - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with New Zealand-based clients or companies - Relevant accounting or bookkeeping certification - Experience handling multiple entities or accounts Key Skills - Attention to detail - Accuracy and accountability - Strong communication skills - Problem-solving ability - Time management and prioritization
