Field Service Technician

RIX Industries

Role Description The Field Service Technician is primarily responsible for the offsite maintenance and repair of RIX products. The Field Service Technician will be required to travel both domestically and internationally for undefined periods of time. Will perform in-house assembly work when not on a service job. Responsibilities - Represent RIX Industries and act as a liaison between RIX Industries' customers and end users. - Provide quality, on-time repair of compressors, generators, and associated parts and equipment. - Maintain, repair, and overhaul customer's compressors or components as required to meet customer needs, whether in-house or in the field. - Promote and uphold all safety requirements at all times. - Participate in all required company training and administrative requirements on time. - Notify supervisor of adequate levels of supplies and tools for completion of assigned production. - Demonstrate effective communication within the department, company, and customers. - Perform all duties and responsibilities in the best interest of the company. - All Other Duties as Assigned. Qualifications - Degree from technical school or equivalent combination of education and work experience. - One-year experience as a mechanical assembler or mechanic in any related field. - 3 years of experience as a mechanical assembler or mechanic in any rotating equipment related field. - Valid Driver License. - Ability to read and understand structural drawing, schematics, and operating manuals. - Excellent communication skills required for customer interface and reporting. - Must be competent in all aspects of troubleshooting and repair of RIX Industries 5R5, Star, and other models of Compressors and LaBarge Controllers. - Must have troubleshooting skills that seldom require assistance. - Ability to perform calculations such as percentages, ratios, and fractions. - Basic computer skills and ability to adapt to a variety of software applications. - Ability to understand the use and application of air and gas compressors and generators and basic manufacturing tooling and equipment. - Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and inter-personal professional skills. - Ability to travel based on company needs. - Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.15. May require the ability to obtain DOD security clearance. Preferred Qualifications - Advance course work in any Mechanical assembly discipline. - Specific experience in the manufacturing of air and gas compressors and generators. Physical Requirements - This position is regularly exposed to the following conditions: - Manufacturing, warehouse and office environment. - While working near moving equipment, mechanical parts, and lift trucks; must have the ability to follow safe operating procedures. - May be exposed to loud noise, fumes, and/or toxic chemicals. - Must have the following physical abilities: - Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift. - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. - Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or table as well as machine tools or printers.
