Title: People Operations Lead Location Remote US Employment Type Full time Location Type Remote Department PeopleOps Compensation - $120K – $150K • Offers Equity About CertifyOS CertifyOS is building the data infrastructure that powers modern healthcare. Today, healthcare organizations rely on fragmented and outdated provider data. This creates unnecessary administrative work, regulatory risk, and higher costs across the system. We’re solving that problem. Our API-first platform automates provider licensing, enrollment, credentialing, and network monitoring by connecting directly to hundreds of primary data sources. We help healthcare organizations maintain accurate, compliant, and reliable provider networks at scale. Our vision is simple: One API. One provider ID. Frictionless provider data. We’re backed by leading investors and built by a team with deep experience in provider data systems. At CertifyOS, we value authenticity, accountability, collaboration, results, and openness to feedback. We’re building a high-ownership team focused on solving real infrastructure problems that impact millions of patients. About the role: The People Ops Lead will report directly to the SVP of People and own the core operational backbone of our People function across a fast-growing, globally distributed team in the US and India. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who loves building the systems, policies, and day-to-day employee experience that let a high-growth startup scale without breaking. You will be our go-to expert on US benefits and compliance, the steward of our HRIS and people data, and the owner of our employee handbook and policy program. You'll be the first call when an employee needs support navigating a leave of absence, the point person for our annual benefits renewal, and the person making sure our compliance calendar is buttoned up in every jurisdiction where we hire. This role is ideal for someone who has seen what good looks like at a more mature company and wants to bring that playbook to a startup — while being pragmatic about what's right for our stage and size. What you’ll do: - Own US benefits end-to-end — lead the annual benefits renewal and assessment, manage broker and carrier relationships, drive open enrollment, and serve as the primary point of contact for employees on all benefits questions - Serve as the primary point of contact for all leaves of absence (FMLA, parental, medical, disability, personal) — coordinate across employees, managers, carriers, and third-party administrators to deliver a supportive, compliant experience - Maintain the HRIS as the single source of truth for employee data — ensure data integrity, build clean reporting and dashboards for leadership, and produce the analytics that drive headcount, attrition, DEI, and compensation decisions - Own our employee handbook and compliance program across the US and India — draft, review, and update policies to keep pace with changing employment law and the needs of a growing team - Manage our compliance calendar across both geographies — federal, multi-state, and local US filings (EEO-1, ACA, 5500, workers' comp, state-specific leave registrations) and India statutory filings (PF, ESIC, professional tax, gratuity, etc.) - Partner with Finance and our PEO/EOR providers on payroll accuracy, reconciliations, and audit support across the US and India - Build scalable, well-documented processes for the moments that matter — onboarding, offboarding, role changes, leaves, and benefits events — that hold up as we grow - Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, translating policy into plain language and resolving issues with empathy and discretion - Support broader People team initiatives including performance cycles, compensation reviews, and organizational planning. What you’ll need: - 5+ years of progressive People Operations experience, with meaningful time in a high-growth startup environment - Deep expertise in US benefits administration — renewals, plan design, broker management, open enrollment, and leave of absence management - Working knowledge of US federal and multi-state employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, PWFA, state-specific leave and pay transparency laws) - Experience supporting employees in both the US and India would be a plus - Hands-on HRIS ownership (Rippling, Gusto, BambooHR, HiBob, Workday, or similar) with strong instincts for data hygiene, reporting, and analytics - Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail — you see around corners and don't let balls drop - Clear, empathetic communicator who builds trust with employees at every level and knows how to translate complex policy into plain language - Comfort operating with ambiguity and a bias toward building pragmatic, scalable solutions that fit our stage Compensation & Benefits at Certify: The base salary range for this role is $120,000 – $150,000 USD annually. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, skills, qualifications, education or training, internal equity, and work location. This range reflects base salary only and is one component of CertifyOS's total rewards package, which also includes: - Meaningful equity in the form of stock options - 100% of medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums covered for employees - Unlimited PTO policy and paid company holidays - No meeting Thursdays so you can stay heads down to get work done - 401(k) - 16 weeks of paid parental leave - Remote-first work environment with a home office / WFH stipend The posted range is a good-faith estimate at the time of posting and may be adjusted in the future. This posting is not a guarantee of employment or a specific compensation amount. Benefits of Working at Certify At Certify, we’re building with intention and taking care of the people doing the work. Your well-being matters to us. We provide 100% coverage of health, dental, and vision insurance premiums for employees. Our US-based team benefits from unlimited PTO, with at least two weeks off each year to recharge. In India, employees are supported with health insurance, statutory leave benefits, and additional wellness (menstrual) leave for women. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to do their best work, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.
