Field Application Engineer – nVent DC Solutions

• Engage with customers (data center operators, facility engineers, IT architects) early in the sales cycle to gather detailed technical requirements for cooling and power. • Analyze factors like current rack densities, heat loads, facility water loop parameters, and redundancy needs. • Translate requirements into specific product configurations and part numbers. • Assist customers in selecting the right models of coolant distribution units, rack manifolds, heat exchangers, and intelligent PDUs. • Prepare the technical content for proposals and bids. • Act as the go-to technical advisor for both the customer and internal sales throughout the project lifecycle. • Provide training or detailed explanations to customer’s thermal engineers and operations staff on how the HDLC system operates and should be maintained.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering (or similar field)
- Ideally 3+ years as an application engineer, sales engineer, or similar role involving data center thermal management or power distribution
- Familiarity with liquid cooling technologies (cold plates, immersion, RDHx) and tools for thermal analysis (CFD knowledge a plus)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, proficiency in reading engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication for explaining technical concepts to customers
- Ability to travel to customer sites across Europe (~30%)
