Sift’s People Operations team is looking for a People Operations Generalist and Business Partner to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about all things People Ops, and who operates with uncompromising integrity, attention to detail, a can-do attitude, and a firm growth mindset. We are empowered to look beyond simple answers to complex problems instead of being bound by inflexible rules and processes, and building for capability instead of just compliance. We constantly aspire to do more with less, be more agile, more innovative, and to push the boundaries of what is expected. About the team: At Sift, our mission is simple yet powerful: Help everyone trust the internet. Unsurprisingly, the People Operations team believes that people are critical to the success of our mission. Every day, we work to help grow and enable our employees; maintaining a culture that is true to our values and aspirations is what motivates our team every day. We’re looking for a People Operations professional who blends strategic HR business partnering with hands‑on HR generalist and operations work. As part of a small, high‑performing team, you’ll move fluidly between advising leaders on people strategy and rolling up your sleeves to build, improve, and run the day‑to‑day programs that make Sift a great place to work. You’ll support selected business groups as a trusted advisor, while also owning and evolving the people programs, processes, and systems that power our employee experience. This is an ideal role for someone who is energized by both big‑picture thinking and operational excellence, and who enjoys building structure in a dynamic environment. Role Responsibilities - Employee Experience (40%) - Be an advocate and resource for employees, serving as a first point of contact for questions and day‑to‑day support. Provide clear, practical guidance on People Ops guidelines, processes, and programs. - Partner with the broader Employee Experience team to design and drive initiatives that strengthen engagement, culture, and recognition. - Help build, facilitate, and iterate on employee programs such as orientation, management training, and People Ops initiatives, as well as diversity, equity & inclusion work. - Ensure a cohesive, values‑aligned employee experience across the organization by connecting feedback from the business back into our programs and processes. - Business Partnership (40%) - Serve as the primary People Business Partner for assigned functions, building strong relationships with leaders and managers as a thought partner on people strategy, org design, and change management. - Coach leaders and managers on feedback, development, performance, and difficult conversations, helping them build inclusive, high‑performing teams. - Provide guidance and support during key people programs (growth cycles, talent reviews, compensation and promotion cycles, engagement surveys), ensuring consistency, fairness, and manager readiness. - Use data, insights, and listening to diagnose issues and co‑create solutions with your client groups, balancing business needs with a great employee experience. - Operations & Compliance (20%) - Create, maintain, and improve People Ops templates, documentation, workflows, and playbooks so they are simple, clear, and easy to use. - Maintain employee data, systems, documentation, and processes with a focus on accuracy, scalability, and usability. - Act as a point of contact for employee immigration processes and collaborate closely with Sift’s immigration counsel. - Proactively identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or clarify People processes, contributing to our goal of “working smarter, not harder.” Continuously apply innovations such as advanced workflows, automation, and AI utilization. - Support periodic and ongoing compliance tracking and reporting; maintain a strong working knowledge of relevant employment laws to help reduce risk and ensure compliance. - Partner with third‑party vendors to administer benefits, leaves of absence, and PEO employee workflows. Desired Skills and Attributes - 5+ years of experience desired in HR/People Operations roles. Prior experience at a technology company strongly preferred. - Experience working with ADP Workforce Now and other HRIS systems strongly preferred. - Proficiency with Google Workspace and spreadsheets is required. - Solid knowledge of HR Practices, Federal & State employment laws. - Strong project management skills, strong attention to detail, strong work ethic, and written/oral communication skills. Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills. - Self-driven, with a proven ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in fast-paced, dynamic environments. - Unquestionable integrity and ability to handle confidential information professionally and with discretion. - PHR/SPHR certification (or similar) a plus.
