Head of Revenue Accounting
The Access Group
• Own revenue accounting for 22 operating entities across multiple divisions • Provide final sign-off on consolidated Group revenue before submission to CFO and Group Finance • Work with internal teams to implement and continuously improve IFRS 15 revenue recognition processes • Maintain revenue recognition policies and update for new products, acquisitions, and business model changes • Approve technical accounting treatments for non-standard contracts and complex scenarios • Own the AI-enabled revenue recognition platform roadmap and enhancement • Manage multiple people across three geographies including a systems lead & revenue accountants • Hire, onboard, and develop talent in Romania & Malaysia GOC’s • Create clear accountability structure with proper preparer/reviewer segregation • Build team capability on IFRS 15 technical knowledge and stakeholder partnership skills • Implement 100% revenue coverage with audit-ready controls • Reduce month-end close time from 3 days to 2 days through proper team structure and automation • Launch weekly business reviews with all 22 SWC Managing Directors (currently none exist) • Establish monthly balance sheet reporting packs for all SWC MDs with forward-looking insights • Own and enhance our AI-enabled revenue recognition platform (internally) • Use automation to shift team focus from manual processing to analysis, controls, and stakeholder partnership • Champion self-serve analytics and reporting tools to reduce dependency on Finance for routine queries • Lead relationship with audit partner on all revenue recognition audit matters • Manage year-end audit fieldwork and PBC (Prepared By Client) requests • Respond to technical audit queries and achieve zero revenue-related audit findings • Coordinate with Technical Accounting on emerging standards and complex judgements • Conduct weekly business reviews with SWC MDs and Finance Business Partners across 22 entities • Present revenue performance, variance explanations, and commercial insights clearly • Partner with Revenue FP&A on forecasting accuracy and board narrative • Advise Commercial teams on revenue recognition implications during deal structuring • Oversee acquisition revenue due diligence and purchase accounting adjustments • Integrate new acquisitions into standardized revenue processes within 90 days • Establish systematic M&A revenue integration framework (currently ad-hoc)
Job Requirements
- Significant experience in revenue accounting with progressive responsibility
- Proven experience of team leadership (8-15 people as a guide), ideally across multiple locations
- Strong IFRS 15 technical knowledge in SaaS, subscription, or software businesses
- External audit relationship management (Big 4 environment preferred)
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- PE-backed business experience (understanding investor requirements)
- M&A integration experience (revenue due diligence and post-acquisition setup)
- GOC team management (building and leading nearshore/offshore teams)
- Revenue recognition system implementation or process automation experience
- Big 4 audit or advisory background
