Payroll Specialist

Wagepoint

• Provide prompt and thorough payroll and technical support to customers via phone, email, and messaging. • Troubleshoot issues and guide users through Wagepoint’s features and functionalities. • Collaborate with Product Support, Partner Support, and Payroll Advisors to resolve complex issues. • Manage and track interactions using CRM tools and dashboards, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-ups. • Keep our knowledge base up to date with FAQs, user guides, and troubleshooting tips. • Mentor and train new Payroll Team members. • Participate in special payroll-related projects as they arise.

Job Requirements

  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • 1+ years in a customer success/support-facing role
  • PCP Certification (Payroll Compliance Professional).
  • Familiarity with Canadian payroll regulations, tax rules, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with CRM systems and cloud-based tools (e.g., Google Suite).
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

How you'll make an impact - Identify and recommend process improvements such as training, customization, automation, and enhancements to maximize the value and efficiency of our client’s payroll/HRIS platform - Build and maintain client relationships in a customer-centric environment - Successfully manage several projects and/or clients simultaneously in a highly organized manner - Create and document standard payroll processing procedures. - Work in a virtual team environment or autonomously completing tasks accurately and efficiently - Provide payroll compliance assistance and guidance, as well as communicate best practices - Prioritizes meeting client deliverables and deadlines About You - Experience with any major payroll/HRIS platform (e.g. ADP, Ceridian, Paychex, Paycom, Paycor, Paylocity, Rippling, UKG, or Workday.) - Experience with other payroll/HRIS platforms is a plus. - End to end payroll processing. - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a payroll specialist or payroll administrator type role. - Proficiency in Excel, including creating formulas, Pivot Tables, and the use of VLOOKUP. - Attention to detail, comfort with numbers, problem-solving ability, and the ability to operate in a highly confidential setting. - Experience with payroll taxes and quarterly/annual reconciliations with the ability to troubleshoot issues resulting in root cause identification.
