Overview Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. The CO+I CTO Office is looking for a Technical Leader in systems, components, and networking.  The Technical Leader for Systems Engineering will take CTO technology innovations into production, including defining reliability and quality requirements and supply chain development and enablement. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical alignment with cross-functional teams for hardware systems (CPU, GPU, racks), networking, and datacenter roadmaps. This individual will be expected to think outside the box and seek opportunities to collaborate or codevelop with industry partners and/or academia to develop innovative solutions.  We are looking for a leader who is creative, talented, and experienced with a deep technical background and expertise in system environments (power, thermal, reliability, etc.). The position requires bringing innovative operations, expertise working with planning, and innovative team. Other Requirements:   Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:   - Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.  Preferred Qualifications:  - MS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, OR related field; AND 9+ years technical engineering experience with a provider of cloud, datacenter, network, server products or services.   - BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, OR related field; AND 15+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience with a provider of cloud, datacenter, network, server products or services.   - Overall subject matter expertise in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering with enough knowledge to be capable of leading other engineering areas outside of subject matter expertise.  - 10+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. - End to end expert hardware system knowledge of silicon, server, networking, and datacenter architecture, processes, and technology.   - Knowledge of datacenter technologies and trends. Ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions.   - Extensive experience and knowledge in operating in technical domains and environments that have ambiguity. - Experience and ability to influence without authority across engineering teams.   - Experience leading critical engineering initiatives that span multiple teams, which often have conflicting priorities and schedules.   - Demonstrated critical thinking, program management skills, and collaboration experience.  #COICareers Technical Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year. • Lead technical projects by managing engineering interfaces, ensuring cohesive design integration, and refining architectural frameworks. • Liaise with stakeholders, handle requirements, and support early-stage activities like optioneering and design concept development. • Coordinate the creation of critical artefacts such as operations concepts, functional and system architectures, requirement and compliance statements, and verification and validation planning. • Conduct optioneering assessments and design risk assessments (safety and CDM) to ensure robust project planning. • Support integrated technical management by navigating technical and project risks, refining design configurations, and developing breakdown structures. • Respond promptly to technical queries. • Liaise seamlessly with all disciplines to achieve unified design coordination. • Apply cutting-edge systems engineering best practices. • Develop and propose innovative Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches for streamlined processes. • Report progress on deliverables and provide strategic resource level recommendations to the Project Lead Engineer (Systems and Integration).

• Support the elicitation and documentation of functional and non-functional requirements. • Assist in the analysis and modeling of processes and systems. • Provide technical support to users (Level 1/Level 2 - N1/N2, when applicable). • Perform functional testing and assist in system validation. • Track bug fixes and improvements with the development team. • Prepare technical documentation and user manuals. • Support system and API integrations. • Participate in meetings with business stakeholders to understand requirements.

• Analyze biller lists for potential processing opportunities • Implement opportunities in our bill pay system ensuring seamless payment delivery • Perform biller research including accepted delivery methods and customer data requirements • Document biller research findings including payment process flows and use cases • Manage and update critical biller data within Salesforce.com • Analyze existing Bill Pay systems and processes to identify inefficiencies • Propose innovative solutions that align with business objectives • Facilitate productive discussions among diverse teams • Monitor and test prospective billers to ensure system integrity • Assist in troubleshooting production issues and propose preventative measures • Lead analysis and design of complex Bill Pay initiatives • Identify and mitigate potential risks in project implementations • Conduct in-depth data analysis and create reports for stakeholders
