Job Description

Technical Manager – AI and Data, SAS Viya

EY

• Provide technical authority for SAS Viya architecture, platform design, configuration, and standards across environments. • Lead platform administration and lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, backup, recovery, and ensuring environment stability. • Manage and optimise CAS performance, workload execution, scalability, and resource utilisation for analytics and AI workloads. • Ensure robust security, identity, access management, and regulatory compliance in line with enterprise policies. • Oversee monitoring, logging, observability, and incident management to ensure platform reliability. • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues and performance bottlenecks across real-time and batch analytics pipelines. • Govern SAS Viya content, data access, environment promotions, and release management. • Lead and mentor SAS Viya administrators and platform engineers, establishing SOPs and best practices. • Contribute to technical documentation, code/configuration reviews, and continuous platform improvement.

Job Requirements

  • 8–12 years of experience in analytics platforms, data engineering, or enterprise Data & AI environments
  • Extensive technical expertise in SAS Viya architecture, administration, and CAS performance optimisation.
  • Experience leading enterprise-scale analytics platforms in complex, multi-environment landscapes.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, analytics pipelines (batch and real-time), and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with platform operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management.
  • Strong knowledge of security, identity, access management, and governance in regulated environments.
  • Ability to translate business and analytics requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring technical platform teams, setting standards and best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field.
  • SAS certifications in SAS Viya Administration or Architecture are strongly preferred; cloud certifications are a plus.

This Sr. Analyst will oversee AI governance, model risk alignment, technology risk management, and regulatory compliance across the organization. This role serves as a key control function, partnering with IT, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Information Security, and business leadership to ensure safe, responsible, and compliant use of technology — including emerging AI and Generative AI capabilities.
