• Deliver high‑quality field service support for medium‑ and high‑voltage (MV/HV) electrical systems, ensuring all work meets GEV’s standards for EHS, quality, and on‑time delivery. • Carry out testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance using MV/HV electrical test equipment, applying sound engineering judgement and recognised industry practices. • Develop and continuously expand your technical expertise, staying current with evolving technologies, standards, and best practices across power conversion, drives, motors, and control systems. • Prepare and complete all required documentation, including safety plans, risk assessments, method statements, inspection reports, technical reports, material requisitions, customer updates, timesheets, and travel & living expenses. • Act as a trusted technical representative on customer sites, building strong relationships, understanding operational needs, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout service delivery. • Collaborate with engineering, project, and commercial teams to support issue resolution, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of service processes and product performance. • Mobilise internationally at short notice, supporting customers primarily across the UK, Africa, and the Middle East while operating from a home‑based location.
Job Requirements
- Strong technical foundation in power distribution, drives, controls, or automation, with power generation experience considered an advantage.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships, representing the business with professionalism and confidence.
- A pro‑active problem solver with sound judgement and a commitment to issue resolution and continuous improvement.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with solid computer proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- High‑energy, self‑starting mindset with the flexibility and willingness to travel extensively (up to 80%) across the UK, Africa, and the Middle East.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.
