Job Description

Principal Specialist, Supplier Quality & Development - Electronics

Role Description This is a remote position with working hours based on U.S. West Coast (Pacific Time). - Manages supplier quality performance through prevention, monitoring/escalation processes, processing of supplier submission of nonconforming material. - Manages/Supports supplier onboarding and qualification/certification. - Manages source inspection and material release processes. - Performs Escape management procedures, drives root cause analysis & problem solving and recommends corrective and preventive action for systemic supplier process and product materials. - Proactively supports the RTX supplier programs to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability. - Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality initiative strategies; addressing them with key proactive quality tools (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), as well as driving their implementation. - Ensures that supplier is capable to meet all contract requirements including Resourcing Gate, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance and Work Transfer implementation. - This role involves approximately 50% travel; candidates must be willing and able to meet this requirement. Qualifications - Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience. - 6+ years professional experience in a supply chain operations environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent. - Knowledge of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools Knowledge, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Practical Problem Solving, International Mgmt. system standards, Authorities / Regulations / Standards, Knowledge of QMS, Auditing/Assessing, Risk Management / Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma) desirable. Requirements - Strong background in Electronics Commodity. - Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to speak effectively and easily with both internal and external executives and employees. - Ability to adapt and use multiple forms of interaction styles to convince and/or persuade people/stakeholders to follow ideas and proposals. - Ability to use flexible and adaptable working styles to build and develop effective cross-functional teamwork. - Bachelor’s degree in engineering/industrial engineering or similar field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education. - Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. - May have practical knowledge of project management. - Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work. Qualifications - Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance management within the food industry, frozen products preferred. - Proven experience working with co-manufacturing partners. - Strong knowledge of FDA & FSMA regulations and food safety standards. - Excellent communication and relationship management skills. - Experience with quality management systems and software. - Self-motivated and autonomous. - Experience with sensory evaluation and working with sensory consultants. - Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, or related field preferred. - Ability to travel up to 30% to various manufacturing and supplier facilities.
