Associate Project Manager
Capita
• Delivering complex, multidisciplinary capital projects for public sector clients, ensuring successful outcomes across time, cost and quality. • Providing operational leadership for the team, including monthly forecasting, financial monitoring and wider business management to ensure financial targets are achieved or exceeded. • Engaging with senior leaders to raise the profile of the team and support a strong, collaborative and integrated team culture. • Leading on new business activity, supporting bids and tenders, promoting the team’s services and proactively identifying opportunities through internal and external networking. • Overseeing team leadership and performance management, including team structure, appraisals, development planning and career progression within the wider team. • Managing recruitment activity across the team, including role definition, demand analysis and administration of Capita’s hiring processes. • Preparing fee proposals, overseeing invoicing and managing month‑end processes, ensuring strong commercial and operational performance. • Collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams and key stakeholders, maintaining strong partnerships across the business and with clients. • Travelling to sites when required, working across a national portfolio of projects (with travel expenses covered).
Job Requirements
- PM experience in a consultancy environment, managing multi‑disciplinary design and construction schemes and delivering projects to time, cost and quality objectives.
- Experience delivering public sector projects, with some Local Authority experience desirable.
- Degree‑qualified in a construction‑related discipline (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Civil Engineering).
- Chartered in a suitable discipline — QS, BS or Civil Engineering (e.g., MRICS, MICE, MAPM).
- Strong understanding of a range of procurement methods and management methodologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams, influence stakeholders and work in close partnership with clients.
- A delivery‑driven, highly organised individual with a positive, self‑motivated, can‑do attitude.
- Membership of MICE, MRICS or MAPM.
