Role Description Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company’s vision of a fully electric transportation future. The Ford Pro Intelligence (FPI) Telematics team is looking for a highly skilled Sr. Staff Engineer to lead the technical vision and build web applications and services that will be useful, reliable, and secure products for our customers. - Architect, design, and drive the technical roadmap for large-scale, data-intensive SaaS applications. - Act as a force multiplier for the engineering team by mentoring and coaching junior and mid-level engineers. - Partner with Product, Design, and Business leadership to shape product strategy. - Effectively scope, estimate, and provide architectural blueprints for enterprise initiatives. - Lead the hands-on development of critical architectural components and complex projects. - Elevate engineering standards by researching and proposing new internal tooling and processes. - Serve as the ultimate technical escalation point for critical incidents. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience). - 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in a dedicated Senior, Staff, or Lead capacity. - 8+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade API services using Java or Kotlin (Spring Boot preferred). - 7+ years of experience designing and optimizing relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases. - 5+ years of experience architecting and deploying production workloads in cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure). - 3+ years of experience with modern frontend frameworks (React preferred). - 10% domestic travel required. - English proficiency (written and verbal).
