As a Technical Account Manager (TAM), you’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor to Bentley’s most strategic customers, guiding technical strategy, influencing outcomes, and driving long-term value. In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of technology, strategy, and relationships—partnering closely with Account Managers and cross-functional Bentley teams to deeply understand customer challenges and align Bentley’s industry-leading solutions to their business goals. You’ll play a critical role in strengthening partnerships, expanding customer success, and enabling meaningful technical and commercial outcomes. Responsibilities - Serve as the technical expert for strategic customer accounts, helping teams and customers understand Bentley’s products and how they solve real business problems. - Partner closely with Account Managers and customers to build technical account strategies, lead discovery conversations, and identify value-driven solutions. - Design and recommend tailored infrastructure software solutions based on customer needs, workflows, and industry standards. - Define scopes of work to support successful implementations and deliver user training when needed. - Collaborate with Product, Services, and Marketing teams to share customer insights, influence product improvements, and support new go-to-market initiatives. - Deliver technical presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts that clearly communicate product value and impact. - Address technical questions and objections while highlighting Bentley’s competitive advantages. - Create sales-ready technical content, including presentations, videos, datasets, and proposal contributions. - Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors to provide informed guidance to customers and internal teams. - Support technical proposals and RFP responses, building trusted relationships as a go-to subject matter expert. This is a full-time, individual contributor role expected to work 40 hours per week. Ability to travel 35% of the time is required. Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience. - 5-7 years in a technical role such as pre-sales, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or enterprise account management — ideally within the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) industry. - Experience within the Transportation Industry, ideally directly working with DOTs. - Familiarity with Bentley’s solution portfolio (e.g., ProjectWise, MicroStation, OpenRoads, SYNCHRO) preferred. - Background in solution sales, technical consulting, or customer-facing advisory roles is a plus. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting to technical and business audiences. - Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across teams. - Comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
