Role Description NeoWork is hiring an SEO/AEO Specialist on behalf of a client — a growth-focused web design & development agency expanding their digital marketing service team. The SEO/AEO Specialist is a senior individual contributor responsible for delivering high-impact organic search strategies and implementation support for a portfolio of B2B software clients. This is not a content-only role. You will own the full technical SEO lifecycle — from site audits and Core Web Vitals remediation to schema markup development, AEO strategy, keyword prioritization (backed by data and reports), and client-facing strategic counsel. You will work directly with senior-level client stakeholders Directors, VPs, and even Founders and C-suite executives to recommend pathways to driving measurable improvements in organic visibility, SERP position, and AI-surface discoverability. Qualifications - 7+ years of SEO experience, with demonstrated depth in technical SEO — not limited to on-page content optimization. - Proven experience serving mid-market or enterprise B2B software / SaaS clients, preferably in an agency context. - Expert-level proficiency in SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog — able to use advanced features, not just surface-level reporting. - Advanced working knowledge of Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4. - Ability to write and implement structured data markup (JSON-LD) independently and accurately. - Deep understanding of Core Web Vitals, page speed optimization, and site architecture best practices. - Experience with keyword research, search intent mapping, and content strategy for technical and complex product categories. - Confident, polished communicator capable of leading client meetings and presenting recommendations to director/VP-level stakeholders. - Strong written communication skills — able to produce audit reports, roadmaps, and strategy documents with minimal oversight. - Familiarity with at least one AEO/AI search visibility monitoring platform. Requirements - Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits including crawl analysis (Screaming Frog), indexation health, site architecture, and redirect mapping. - Diagnose and provide remediation recommendations for Core Web Vitals issues (LCP, INP, CLS) and overall page speed performance. - Identify and resolve crawl budget inefficiencies, duplicate content issues, canonical conflicts, and hreflang implementation errors. - Evaluate internal linking structure and site architecture and deliver actionable recommendations to improve crawl paths and page-level authority distribution. - Partner with client development and engineering teams to ensure SEO recommendations are implemented correctly. - Write, validate, and implement structured data / schema markup from scratch across a range of schema types including FAQ, HowTo, Organization, BreadcrumbList, Article, Product, and SoftwareApplication. - Develop AEO strategies to improve client visibility in AI-powered search surfaces including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other LLM-driven discovery surfaces. - Monitor and analyze AEO performance using platforms such as Gumshoe.ai, Profound.com, GrowthX, or comparable tools. - Stay current on evolving structured data standards, entity-based SEO, and knowledge graph optimization best practices. - Build comprehensive keyword strategies aligned to client business goals, sales funnel stages, and buyer journey maps. - Perform competitive SERP analysis and content gap assessments to identify high-priority content and optimization opportunities. - Develop keyword cluster architectures (pillar-and-spoke) and provide editorial direction to content teams. - Recommend meta title and description content optimizations grounded in keyword research, search intent analysis, and CTR data from Google Search Console. - Classify target keywords by search intent (informational, navigational, commercial, transactional) and map them to the appropriate content assets. - Lead client kickoff sessions, monthly strategy reviews, and quarterly business reviews independently. - Produce clear, executive-quality SEO audit reports and 90-day roadmaps tailored to non-technical stakeholders. - Consult clients on SEO prioritization and investment decisions, translating complex technical findings into business-impact narratives. - Manage concurrent deliverables across multiple client accounts while meeting deadlines and maintaining delivery quality standards. - Track and report on organic channel KPIs including keyword rankings, organic traffic, click-through rates, and conversion attribution. - Use Google Search Console advanced features (coverage reports, performance queries, Core Web Vitals monitoring) to surface actionable insights. - Connect SEO activity to revenue and pipeline outcomes using Google Analytics 4 and client CRM data where available. Benefits - This is a 100% home-based position. - We offer health insurance for contractors. - Holiday Extra Pay. - The work hours generally align with standard business hours in the US, with some potential flexibility depending on the client's needs. - We prioritize the mental health of our team members and offer mental health days to support their well-being. - In addition to the base salary, performance-based incentives are provided. - There is an annual review and appraisal process in place. - There are ample opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the company. Company Description The work on complex, high-impact SEO programs for growing software companies with real budgets and stakeholder buy-in.
