The Field Support Specialist (FSS) plays a critical role in driving that success by ensuring new centers open in full alignment with the Mathnasium Method and core business systems. Through hands-on consultation, training, and ongoing support, this role accelerates time to profitability and sets the standard for operational excellence from day one. Role Overview The Field Support Specialist serves as a key partner to franchisees during the new center opening process, acting as the bridge between franchisees and the corporate training team. This role leads centers from pre-opening through grand opening, providing the structure, training, and support needed to establish strong operational and financial foundations. This is a primarily remote role; however, it requires approximately 50% travel throughout the year to support new center openings and on-site franchisee needs. Candidates with current or prior Mathnasium experience are strongly encouraged to apply, as familiarity with the business model and systems provides a meaningful advantage in ramping quickly and driving success in the role. The FSS also plays an important role in shaping the long-term franchisee experience by building strong relationships and ensuring a smooth transition to the Franchise Business Consultant (FBC) for ongoing support. Primary Responsibilities - Lead the end-to-end new center opening process, from initial setup through soft and grand opening - Equip franchisees with the tools, training, and best practices needed to launch successfully and operate in alignment with the Mathnasium model - Partner with franchisees to establish clear, measurable (SMART) goals for center performance and growth - Collaborate with Marketing to execute localized strategies that drive awareness and accelerate early revenue - Monitor progress toward key performance indicators and provide proactive coaching to support early-stage success - Communicate insights, opportunities, and progress updates to franchisees, FBCs, and internal leadership - Build strong, trust-based relationships with franchisees and cross-functional teams - Manage travel and expenses responsibly in alignment with company guidelines Core Capabilities - Ability to lead, influence, and inspire franchisees - Strong operational mindset with a focus on systems, compliance, and process improvement - Effective cross-functional collaboration and organizational awareness - Skilled in business consulting and performance coaching - Results-driven with strong goal-setting and execution skills - Brand ambassador with a commitment to maintaining Mathnasium standards - Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed - Professional, accountable, and adaptable Required Qualifications - 3+ years of experience working with franchisees or in a consultative business role - Demonstrated ability to influence and guide business owners toward performance goals - Strong communication skills, including active listening, written, and verbal - Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively - Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree (Education, Math, or related field preferred) - Prior or current experience with Mathnasium strongly preferred - Background in math education or a passion for math learning - Alignment with Mathnasium’s mission and a desire to positively impact students, families, and communities About Mathnasium Mathnasium is a math learning center dedicated to helping students understand, master, and enjoy math. The primary depot for this position is Watford Gap Motorway Compound (M1, Jct 16/17) (NN67UZ). However, the role is primarily remote and will require travel to multiple locations as necessary. This position offers a competitive salary and overtime. The standard hours of work are 42 hours per week, Monday – Friday. You will be required to participate in a standby rota. What You’ll Do: - Carrying out reactive maintenance to highways technology equipment, including but not limited to; Signs, Signals, Traffic Signals, CCTV, Emergency Roadside Telephones, Queue Protection and traffic counting equipment (including Radar) and Weather Stations. - Perform planned cyclic maintenance in accordance with client requirements, manufacturer guidelines, and British Standards. - Carry out electronic diagnostic checks on highways communications assets for fault identification and resolution. - Prepare detailed reports and documentation covering maintenance actions, fault findings, upgrades, and asset conditions. - Provide expert technical advice to colleagues, clients, and contractors on procedures, issues, and best practices. - Assist with project administration and control, including progress tracking, resource management, and regulatory compliance. - Coordinate with third parties (contractors, suppliers, local authorities) during the deployment and integration of new highways communications infrastructure. - Participate in system upgrades, technology enhancements, and commissioning of new equipment. - Oversee asset inventory and support emergency responses to critical incidents affecting highway technology systems. - Contribute to health and safety compliance by performing risk assessments and following safe working practices. - Engage in training initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and pursue continuous professional development to stay updated on industry advancements. - Organise daily tasks as allocated by the Works Coordinator to ensure they are completed to client set time scales. - As a Lone Worker, ensure that Health and Safety rules are always followed. - To be able to volunteer for nightworks when and if required.
