Flight Operations Engineer

Role Description The Flight Operations Engineer works directly with airline customers, airframe manufacturers, and internal disciplines to: - Develop and maintain Operating Instructions which contain recommendations for in-flight engine operation. - Support resolution of issues related to in-flight engine operation, coordinate issues with airframe manufacturer’s Flight Operations groups, identify, recommend and evaluate changes to in-flight operational procedures. - Respond to airline customer and airframe manufacturer inquiries regarding in-flight engine operation and issue all-operators correspondence as necessary. - Conduct meetings of various types to provide engine operational information to airline pilots and/or flight operations personnel. - Conduct line rides or flight audits by recording data and observing procedures in the cockpit. - Support resolution of major aircraft events. - Ability to create and deliver effective presentations regarding in-flight procedures of interest to flight crews and other technical personnel. - Perform engine/aircraft engineering studies and report results. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 8+ years of engineering experience or 5+ years with an advanced degree. - Private Pilot license is required. - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program. - Ability to travel worldwide (~10%), sometimes on short notice. Requirements - 5 years of engine related technical experience including knowledge of large commercial aircraft and engine operation. - Familiar with engine systems and engine performance as well as PW engine models. - Engine performance and operability engineering analysis skills highly recommended. - MS Office skills and Airline Transport Pilot license is preferred. - Position requires self-motivation and ability to work independently. - Must be able to prepare high quality written work and be able to verbalize technical concepts effectively.
