Field Service Technician – Energy & Carbon
ABB
• Perform inspections and maintenance activities on electrical, mechanical, and structural components of energy systems, including Solar PV, EV charging stations, and battery electric storage systems. • Troubleshoot and identify root cause(s) of problems affecting the proper operation and performance of various hardware assets. • Open live electrical equipment exposing energized connections for inspection. • Respond to client concerns regarding the performance or functionality of their systems. • Identify and escalate concerns to the appropriate level and suggest potential improvements. • Perform other inspection, assessment, and maintenance activities on client’s energized assets as needed.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Analytical ability and high technical aptitude.
- 2+ years of experience in an electrical technician role.
- Electrical trade skills and previous experience; ability to read and understand electrical diagrams.
- NFPA 70 E Certified is a plus.
- Ability to solve problems on the fly and work in a sometimes-unstructured environment.
- Capable of critical thinking and ability to solve complex mechanical and electrical problems.
- Ability to interact with client representatives, internal stakeholders, and the general public in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Computer literacy, familiar with windows programs and Microsoft office tools.
- Self-motivated and capable of working effectively without direct supervision.
