Marathon Health
• Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL‑based data pipelines, queries, and reports to support financial and operational analytics. • Prepare and analyze financial, operational, and clinical datasets to support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic planning. • Build dashboards and data visualizations (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel) to help leaders interpret trends and KPIs. • Partner with Finance to improve data quality, automate reporting processes, and enhance analytical capabilities. • Perform ad‑hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives, cost optimization efforts, and performance improvement projects. • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for financial and operational stakeholders. • Ensure data governance, integrity, and security standards are upheld across reporting processes. • Collaborate cross‑functionally with IT, Revenue Cycle, and Operations teams to align on data definitions and reporting needs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Healthcare Management, or a related field and 2–5 years of hands‑on SQL experience, including writing complex queries, joins, CTEs, and stored procedures or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, Redshift, MySQL).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI preferred; Tableau or Qlik acceptable).
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, Power Query, and data modeling.
- Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and building automated reporting workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking abilities.
- Ability to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience in healthcare services, managed care, population health, or revenue cycle analytics.
- Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, or FP&A processes.
- Exposure to Python or R for data transformation or statistical analysis.
- Understanding of HIPAA, PHI handling, and healthcare data compliance requirements.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
- Collaborative team player who can also independently manage priorities.
- Curious, proactive, and eager to improve processes and outcomes.

The Investment Analyst is an integral part of the University of Illinois Foundation (UIF) Investment Office and works closely with the senior members of the Investment Team on all aspects of managing a multibillion-dollar endowment. The Investment Analyst is a generalist position working within a small team that invests globally across equity, credit, commodities, interest rates and real estate through investment managers, co-investments, and direct investments.
