Role Description Energy Environmental Group (EEG) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Planner I or II to support our environmental planning and permitting efforts for various projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing technical documents for submittal to various federal and state agencies. Daily tasks will include: - Reviewing existing project documents and GIS maps. - Quantifying project-related disturbance. - Coordinating with construction personnel and subject matter experts, and GIS staff. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a team of professionals dedicated to critical infrastructure development, environmental compliance, and business development. Qualifications - Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, government agencies, and team members. - Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, GIS software, and mobile data collection tools. - Comfortable working in office and field settings, including challenging terrain and adverse environmental conditions. - Willingness to travel out-of-state, often on short notice, and work flexible hours as needed. - Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, with a strong sense of reliability and punctuality. Requirements - Physical Requirements: - Lifting: Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs. - Field Work: Capable of traversing challenging terrain and working long hours in varying environmental conditions. - Travel: Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time. - Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Geography, GIS, Natural Resources, or a related field. - Minimum of 2 years of related work experience (or a master’s degree in an applicable field). - Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid driver’s license. - Preferred Experience: - Knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution line construction activities. - Planning and field experience on construction projects. - Proficiency with ESRI GIS Software (Desktop, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps) and Google Earth.
