• Facilitate product setup, updates, and deactivation initiatives across Editorial, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Product teams • Translate business requirements received through JIRA intake into structured epics and tasks • Serve as Scrum Master for PDI departmental workflows • Manage and optimize JIRA boards and workflows • Report on velocity and capacity metrics to set clear expectations • Monitor, analyze, and respond to JIRA dashboards and metric reporting

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. • Support backlog readiness, sprint capacity planning, and dependency visibility to improve predictability and execution. • Coach teams on agile practices, continuous improvement, and effective cross-functional collaboration. • Manage selected internal initiatives using a waterfall project approach when timing, scope, governance, or coordination needs require it. • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, risks, assumptions, and resource needs for priority initiatives. • Track progress across agile delivery and structured projects, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility into status, blockers, and tradeoffs. • Maintain project documentation, action logs, milestone plans, and reporting artifacts. • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to align priorities, resolve issues, and support on-time execution.

Role Description As a Team Lead at Kainos, you will be responsible for leading an agile team to deliver high quality solutions that meet client and user needs. Qualifications - Active SC clearance is mandatory. - Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role with UK defence sector organizations is mandatory. - Proven experience as a senior scrum master OR a combined role of a project manager, who is also a hands-on scrum master for UK defence sector organizations. - Minimum 3 years of demonstrable success delivering bespoke software projects from scratch, using agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, etc.) for external customers. - Strong experience in customer-facing projects with UK defence sector organizations - syncs and reporting, presentations, board meetings, workshops, upscaling opportunities. - Strong managerial skills, both direct and indirect. - Strong commercial awareness - working with financial teams, understanding and basic reporting of costs, preferably working under a budget plan of £5M or more. - Excellent interpersonal skills. - Highly flexible (including a willingness to work away from home base).
