Account Manager, Material Protection

• Lead the full sales cycle for assigned plastics accounts, including prospecting, technical discussions, value‑based selling, negotiations and closing • Strengthen strategic customer relationships by conducting regular visits, business reviews and technical collaboration sessions • Partner closely with Technical Service, R&D and Product Management to translate customer needs into targeted technical and commercial solutions • Monitor industry and regulatory trends (e.g., sustainability, FDA, EPA, TSCA) to inform customer strategy and opportunity development • Drive strong commercial execution through accurate forecasting, CRM management, pricing strategy and cross‑functional alignment with Supply Chain, Finance and Customer Service
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, account management or technical sales within chemicals, plastics additives, polymer science or materials engineering
- Strong understanding of the plastics value chain, including compounding, masterbatch, and processing technologies (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding)
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts into compelling commercial value propositions
- Demonstrated track record of revenue growth and customer relationship expansion
- Excellent communication, negotiation and business planning skills, with CRM proficiency (Salesforce, Dynamics or similar)
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Engineering or related field preferred
- Willingness to travel 30–50% across North America
