Job Description

Revenue Controller

Capacity

• Read and interpret customer contracts to identify terms and conditions that impact revenue recognition in a customer-centric and accountable manner • Work with Global Finance team in setting up ASC 606 revenue recognition models, ensuring consistency, technical accuracy, and alignment with company policy • Execute monthly and quarterly revenue close activities in a timely, accurate, and well-documented manner • Manage compliance related to revenue recognition controls with a strong focus on accountability and reliability • Support external audits through clear documentation, responsive communication, and collaborative engagement • Collaborate closely while building effective working relationships across Finance and non-Finance teams, including Sales, Legal, and Operations • Apply ASC 606 technical accounting guidance to company-specific revenue scenarios involving complex, multi-element arrangements • Review of new contracts, amendments, and statements of work (SOWs) to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policy • Identify, document, and communicate complex revenue accounting matters to stakeholders and auditors in an authentic and clear manner • Prepare technical accounting memoranda under US GAAP • Contribute to the continuous improvement of revenue policies, procedures, and processes in an agile and innovative technology environment • Respond to revenue-related inquiries and ad-hoc requests to deliver clear analysis, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, revenue operations, or finance within a SaaS or software company
  • Experience managing and mentoring team members, providing guidance, reviewing work, and supporting professional development
  • Strong technical revenue accounting expertise with in-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and the ability to apply it to complex transactions
  • Demonstrated ability to review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and control activities in compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
  • Proven ability to scale and improve global revenue processes in a high-growth environment
  • Proficiency with systems such as Salesforce, Maxio, and NetSuite, a plus
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues with clarity to stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks effectively with the ability to manage non-negotiable timelines
  • Self-starter with proven problem-solving ability, capable of identifying issues, proposing solutions, and executing initiatives independently
