• The Accountant will support the Australian and international finance function for our client, helping ensure the accuracy of financial records across multiple entities and contributing to a smooth and timely month-end close process. • Perform timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as required. • Ensure reconciliations are completed in line with month-end deadlines, internal controls, and finance processes. • Support month-end close activities, including preparation and posting of accruals. • Process prepayments and amortisation journals accurately and in a timely manner. • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports across multiple countries and entities. • Support budgeting and forecasting processes through data preparation, analysis, and reporting assistance. • Provide financial data and insights to support planning, decision-making, and performance tracking. • Work closely with the Financial Controller to monitor performance against budgets and forecasts. • Collaborate with the Australia-based finance team to support day-to-day accounting operations. • Contribute to finance process improvements and efficiencies across the function. • Other position-level duties as they arise.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably supporting Australian or international entities.
- Strong experience with balance sheet reconciliations, month-end accounting processes, and financial record maintenance.
- Experience preparing accruals, prepayments, amortisation journals, and related month-end close activities.
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-country reporting environments will be highly regarded.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general finance processes.
- Experience with NetSuite is desirable.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets capability, including strong data handling, reconciliation, and reporting skills.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability, with confidence identifying and resolving discrepancies independently.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and regions.
- Proactive, organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a broader finance team.
