Senior Accountant
V2X
Role Description The Senior Accountant assists with accounting of costs for the company. This is a key role in helping the company maintain strong cash flows. The role is for someone who has a strong understanding of GAAP and good research skills. Will be responsible for ensuring that all financial systems requests for reports, information support, training, and system enhancements are responded to in a timely and professional manner. Supports finance staff in resolving critical close issues. Assists with account and program reconciliations and researches issues for external and government compliance audits. Key Responsibilities - Manage general ledger activities, monthly close process, financial reporting, and related accounting functions. - Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements. Analyzes and documents month over month variances. - Maintain balances for and be able to reconcile balances on a monthly basis for all intra-company payables and receivables. - Reconcile cost ledger to general ledger. Runs monthly allocations and interfaces to the general ledger. - Conduct investigations and resolve critical month end complex reconciliations. - Create or modify reports to accommodate new companies, projects, reporting requirements, or account codes. - Focus on process improvement over advices and intra-company process. - Provide support to compliance and auditors, including significant research, data mining/reports, and resolution of finance systems questions as required. - Support the Cost Supervisor and Finance Manager on projects as needed. - Performs other duties, assignments, and special projects as required. Qualifications - Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained may be substituted. - Experience: Minimum of six (6) years' progressive accounting experience, including Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, General Ledger Month-End Close, and financial statement audit experience. - Technical knowledge of GAAP requirements. - Other Requirements: United States citizenship required. May work extended hours. This role will report directly to the Controller and is responsible for full-cycle property accounting, including complex transactions such as acquisitions, dispositions, capital activity, and investor distributions.
