Director of Planned Giving

The Christian Broadcasting Network

• Lead a comprehensive planned giving program that advances long-term financial support for CBN and its ministries • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of donor engagement, gift planning strategies, and estate administration • Ensure a donor-centric approach that aligns charitable giving with individuals’ philanthropic and legacy goals • Facilitate ministry activities and contribute to CBN’s Biblical mission to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in planned giving, including significant leadership responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree and/or professional certification (e.g. CAP, CFP, JD, or related credentials) preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams, with the ability to set strategic direction, establish measurable goals, and drive results
  • Extensive experience in charitable gift planning within a complex nonprofit organization, including a proven track record of cultivating, soliciting, and closing major and planned gifts
  • Deep knowledge of planned giving vehicles, including bequests, trusts, annuities, and other deferred and complex gift strategies, as well as related tax and legal considerations
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly and persuasively articulate CBN’s mission and funding priorities to diverse audiences
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, develop forecasts, and make informed decisions
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and relevant software tools to manage donor relationships, track performance, and support reporting needs
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment in handling confidential donor and organizational information
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, navigate organizational complexity, and drive continuous improvement
  • Commitment to fostering a Christ-centered environment and alignment with CBN’s core values of excellence, innovation, and integrity
  • Demonstrated life application of Biblical principles and practices in alignment with CBN’s nonprofit Christian mission
