Role Description The Sr Network Inventory GIS Engineer acts as a subject matter expert for the organization’s GIS network inventory. This role is responsible for managing medium to large network GIS inventory projects, including: - Data conversion - Data migration - Data cleanse - Network inventory feature development - Network inventory defect identification - New technology modeling - Training and general support of peer organizations' use of GIS network inventory Also responsible for creating, modifying, researching, and maintaining various types of geospatial data (polygons, KMZ, SHP) and portal map development. This is a work from home position within the U.S. Main Responsibilities - Support the construction, maintenance, and evolution of Lumen's GIS planning platform - Translate network, demand, and implementation data structures into front-end map-based visualization - Create new data pipelines for GIS data structures to be ingested into apps based on business use cases - Lead key AI/ML initiative in driving Locate Cost Avoidance/Recovery efforts - Handle all system management and lead for data for locating, including scripting - Design and integrate databases from geographical specifications - Modify existing GIS systems and adapt new hardware and technology to support program performance - Apply mathematics and scientific approaches to create schemas and models for GIS program designs Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, or a related field - 4+ years of experience in GIS engineering, analysis, or network inventory - Basic Alteryx experience - Strong understanding of GIS concepts, technologies, and tools, including ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, Mapinfo, and open-source GIS tools - Experience with GIS analysis, including spatial analysis, network analysis, and data visualization - Experience with OSP network inventory systems (3GIS, GE Smallworld, OSPI) - Experience with CAD software - Advanced MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Requirements - Location Based Pay Ranges: - $84,629 - $112,838 in states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, WY - $88,860 - $118,480 in states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI - $93,092 - $124,122 in states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, WA Benefits - Comprehensive package featuring a broad range of Health, Life, Voluntary Lifestyle benefits - Other perks that enhance your physical, mental, emotional, and financial wellbeing
