Role Description Are you a commercially driven Business Development Manager with a strong engineering background? This is an opportunity to join a well‑established industrial engineering business delivering bespoke heat exchange solutions to critical UK sectors. In this field‑based role, you’ll take ownership of the full sales lifecycle—building relationships, identifying opportunities, and converting technical challenges into commercial success. You’ll work closely with internal engineering, service and operations teams to ensure customer solutions are both technically sound and commercially competitive. - Driving sales growth in line with company strategy and targets - Identifying and developing new business across sectors such as Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, Facilities Management, Food & Drink, Chemical, Oil & Gas and Power Generation - Managing customer relationships from initial contact through to project delivery - Conducting customer visits, onsite assessments and technical discussions - Preparing cost estimates, quotations, bids and tenders - Supporting contract negotiations and bid submissions - Providing market insight and intelligence to senior stakeholders - Ensuring smooth handover to service and operations teams - Maintaining accurate reporting and CRM data - Promoting strong safety, health and environmental standards Qualifications - Proven business development or sales experience within mechanical or industrial engineering - Strong technical understanding of engineering principles - Track record of winning and developing accounts - Comfortable working independently in a field‑based role - Willingness to travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays - Dedicated home workspace and full UK driving licence - Desirable: experience with heat exchangers and exposure to sectors such as power generation, rail, marine or oil & gas Benefits - Competitive salary £50,000–£60,000 - Company car or car allowance - Employer pension contribution - 25 days’ annual leave + 8 bank holidays - Laptop and mobile phone provided
