Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, preferably in the telecom industry.
- Proven track record of successful business development and deal closure.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with market research and analysis tools.
- Knowledge of IP/MPLS technologies and solutions is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
- Willingness to travel as required for business development activities.

About the opportunity The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible increasing OEM and B2B sales of all QIAGEN products through development of new opportunities and growing existing accounts via share of wallet. BDM is also to ensure customer satisfaction while they work with QIAGEN. Role Description The Senior Manager, Business Development is responsible for advancing late-stage commercial opportunities and ensuring momentum from warm prospect to executed agreement. This role focuses on contract execution, state and regulatory engagement, and cross-functional coordination to move complex deals forward. The role is designed to take ownership of downstream commercial execution, allowing senior leadership to focus on origination and strategic growth. This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports, working closely with internal and external partners across legal, regulatory, project development, and finance. Key Responsibilities - Commercial Deal Execution - Drive progress on late-stage commercial opportunities once prospects are engaged, including NDAs, LOIs, and definitive agreements. - Coordinate contract development and execution in partnership with internal legal teams and external counsel. - Track deal milestones, dependencies, and open items to ensure steady forward progress. - Support negotiations and help resolve gaps between commercial intent and executable agreements. - State & Regulatory Engagement - Coordinate state-level engagement and regulatory touchpoints in partnership with Regulatory Affairs and Permitting teams. - Track and manage state-specific requirements, timelines, and approvals that impact commercial execution. - Support alignment between commercial agreements and licensing, permitting, and regulatory pathways. - Government & Institutional Opportunities - Organize and track opportunities with DOE, DOD, national laboratories, and other government or institutional partners. - Maintain calendars, deadlines, and submission requirements for government-related opportunities. - Coordinate inputs across internal teams to support timely and complete submissions. - Cross-Functional Coordination - Work closely with Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Permitting and Licensing, Project Management, and Project Finance to align commercial terms with project execution realities. - Serve as a connective point between commercial objectives and operational delivery. - Ensure information flows smoothly across teams and that decisions are well-documented and followed through.
