Role Description We’re hiring a Product Counsel to join our in-house Legal team to partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and GTM teams as we build and launch new health products at scale. This role sits at the center of innovation and risk, helping the company move quickly while navigating complex regulatory, privacy, and product considerations—especially as we expand into AI-driven healthcare tools and services involving PHI. You’ll be responsible for ensuring legal keeps pace with a high-velocity product roadmap, advising on everything from product design to go-to-market strategy. Key Responsibilities: - Embed with Product & Engineering teams to advise on legal risk across the full product lifecycle (0→1 launches, iterations, and feature updates). - Provide practical, business-oriented guidance on product, privacy, and regulatory considerations in a fast-moving environment. - Counsel on AI/ML-enabled products, including tools that process, store, or transmit PHI and sensitive health data. - Partner with Data, Security, and Compliance teams on privacy frameworks, data use, and governance. - Advise on consumer health, digital health, and regulated product offerings, ensuring alignment with applicable laws and industry standards. - Support go-to-market strategy, including product positioning, claims, and risk mitigation. - Build scalable legal processes, templates, and frameworks to support rapid product development. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Security, and Operations to enable safe and efficient scaling. Qualifications - 5–7+ years of legal experience, with strong preference for in-house product counseling experience. - Background at a high-growth startup or technology company, ideally in health tech, digital health, or AI. - Demonstrated experience supporting rapid product development cycles (frequent launches, iterations, and updates). - Strong familiarity with privacy and data protection laws (e.g., HIPAA, consumer data frameworks). - AI/ML product considerations, including emerging regulatory and risk landscapes. - Experience advising on products involving PHI or sensitive health data. - Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders. - Strong judgment, with a bias toward enabling the business while managing risk. - Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-paced environments. Requirements - Experience supporting AI-based healthcare or data-driven products (great-to-have). - Familiarity with consumer health or DTC healthcare models (great-to-have). - Experience building or scaling legal infrastructure in early-stage environments (great-to-have). - Exposure to product counseling across both B2C and B2B2C motions (great-to-have).
