Senior T-SQL Developer, SQL Server / Snowflake

Augeo

• Design, develop, and optimize complex T-SQL stored procedures, views, and functions • Refactor legacy SQL code for performance, scalability, and maintainability • Perform advanced query tuning using execution plans, indexing strategies, and statistics analysis • Architect and maintain ETL/ELT processes (SSIS and cloud-based pipelines) • Support business-critical reporting and billing systems with high accuracy and performance expectations • Implement CI/CD practices for database deployments (Azure DevOps/Git) • Contribute to Snowflake data warehouse design, optimization, and data modeling • Troubleshoot production performance issues and resolve root causes • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on T-SQL development in production environments
  • Advanced knowledge of: o Query execution plans o Index design and optimization o Locking, blocking, and transaction isolation levels o TempDB behavior and performance impact o Set-based logic and performance tuning
  • Experience building and maintaining complex stored procedures (1,000+ lines of logic)
  • Strong understanding of relational database design and normalization
  • Experience with SSIS or enterprise ETL frameworks
  • Experience with Git-based source control and structured SDLC environments
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot slow queries in high-volume transactional systems
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake (Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, performance tuning)
  • Data warehousing and dimensional modeling experience
  • Experience migrating workloads from SQL Server to Snowflake
  • Exposure to BI tools (Tableau or Power BI)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD automation for database deployments
  • Understanding of SOC2 controls and secure data handling practices
  • Understand how AI-assisted tools can improve development efficiency
  • Use AI responsibly to enhance — not replace — engineering judgment
  • Can evaluate AI-generated SQL for correctness, performance, and security
  • Stay informed on emerging AI capabilities within data engineering ecosystems
