System Consultant – Network & Infrastructure
Indigo Beam Consulting
• Join our team as a System Consultant • Work with customers and internal teams to translate requirements into secure, scalable infrastructure designs • Deploy and integrate servers, virtualization, storage, and networking into customer environments • Administer Windows Server, failover clusters, and Microsoft SQL Server • Maintain platform components (hypervisors, storage, firmware, and core services) • Implement and validate backup and recovery solutions • Coordinate with vendors to procure, stage, and deploy hardware • Administer virtual environments (internal and customer-facing) • Administer firewalls and related security controls at customer sites • Set up and troubleshoot VPN connectivity between Azure and customer locations • Monitor environments, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot issues to resolution • Apply reliability, security, and performance best practices across on‑premises and Azure deployments • Recommend tools and technologies that improve delivery and operations • Keep up with new technologies and apply them to drive continuous improvement • Explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences • Create and maintain documentation and repeatable processes to improve delivery at scale.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience
- Experience deploying and supporting infrastructure in customer environments (on‑premises and/or Azure)
- Hands-on administration of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft SQL Server (including clustering/HA/AlwaysOn)
- VMware administration plus server and storage fundamentals (SAN/enterprise storage)
- Working knowledge of networking and security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, secure connectivity)
- Clear communication skills and comfort working directly with customers and cross-functional teams
- Strong documentation habits and a mindset for building repeatable, scalable processes
- Nice to Have: Azure networking experience (site-to-site VPNs, routing, and connectivity troubleshooting)
- Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, T-SQL, Terraform, Ansible)
- Familiarity with load balancers, DNS, and SSL/TLS certificate management
- Experience with backup tooling and recovery testing
- Familiarity with endpoint protection / anti-malware tools.
