In this role, you will provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and scaling enterprise-grade systems that manage and automate infrastructure at scale. Foreman is a systems management solution in Ruby on Rails. We are a distributed team of engineers from all around the world. Our fully open-sourced stack includes the following technologies: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Sinatra. Foreman supports provisioning on hypervisors such as VMware, kubevirt, libvirt, cloud services like AWS, GCE, Azure and security compliance framework OpenSCAP. Foreman project has an active community of contributors outside of Red Hat too. You'll have an opportunity to work on real-life issues of an enterprise product with thousands of users. What you will do: - Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance features for Red Hat Satellite. - Drive architectural decisions and influence long-term technical strategy across components and teams. - Collaborate with product management, engineering, and cross-functional teams to define and deliver impactful solutions. - Actively contribute to and engage with upstream communities (especially Foreman), aligning downstream product development with upstream innovation. - Champion Agile practices and help teams continuously improve delivery, quality, and efficiency. - Design and implement containerized solutions leveraging modern container platforms (e.g., Kubernetes/OpenShift). - Lead initiatives in applying AI/ML, including designing and building AI agents to improve development workflows, automation, and product capabilities. - Mentor and guide senior engineers, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing. - Ensure high standards for code quality, testing, security, and maintainability. - Review and test contributions from community members - Performing live demos of your work on regular basis to project users and developers - Drive the end to end development of complex functionality, which includes design, implementation, testing, presentation. What you will bring: - Experience with Linux OS on user level - DevOps skills: from writing Container Files to adding tests to maintaining CI/CD pipelines. - Demonstrated ability to work with minimal local supervision as a part of a geographically distributed team. - Deep experience using and operating Linux. - Experience with GitHub actions, GitLab pipelines or similar CI/CD systems - Extensive experience in software engineering, with a strong track record in building and scaling complex systems. - Proven experience working in Agile development environments. - Hands-on experience with the upstream Foreman community (development, contributions, or collaboration). - Strong experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift). - Experience designing and implementing AI/ML solutions, including building AI agents or automation systems. - Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, or Java. - Experience with REST APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures. - Deep understanding of software design principles, system architecture, and performance optimization. - Strong collaboration and communication skills across globally distributed teams. Plus: - Prior experience working on infrastructure management or lifecycle management platforms. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. - Familiarity with Red Hat technologies and ecosystem. - Contributions to open-source projects beyond Foreman. - Networking or Linux administration skills, experience with configuration management - Programmatic/user knowledge of VMware or other hypervisor/cloud provider The salary range for this position is $151,510.00 - $249,950.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay Transparency Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. • Participation in customer’s cloud delivery projects • Understand customer's functional and technical requirements • Collaborate on design and implementation of Cloud solutions • Conduct testing and upgrade of software/hardware before implementation to the customer's environment • Provide expert support during installation and acceptance activities

• Act as the direct contact and adviser for customer inquiries about Red Hat OpenShift via ticketing tool, by phone and using remote access tools • Deliver an exceptional customer experience by using professional communication, applying existing knowledge, and deep troubleshooting to resolve a variety of issues within the designated service-level agreement (SLA) • Quickly analyze issues to identify problem areas and effectively communicate corrective actions and resolutions to customers in a professional and timely manner • Collaborate with other support engineers and other internal teams and external parties during the problem resolution process • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure • Document diagnostic steps and create reusable solutions for future incidents • Be available to perform weekend shift duties on a rotational schedule when needed • Contribute to regional or global initiatives or projects

• Work with the customer Account Executive, Sales Specialist, and Solution Architect to identify challenges and blockers to adoption of OpenShift or OpenStack as an infrastructure platform, as well as consumption within new and existing customer accounts. • Interface with regional sales engineering for account planning and GTM as needed. • Plan, design and execute tailored solutions which will effectively address the above, leveraging additional support and resources from Red Hat as required. • Identify and partner with customer champions, acting as an advocate within both their line-of-business and application development teams, as well as within Red Hat. • Work closely with the product team, providing feedback on both the services and underlying platforms they are running on. • Assist leadership with evolving our Go-To-Market strategy for OpenShift on bare metal adoption, including OpenShift Virtualization and OpenStack. • Based on your first-hand customer experience, work in close coordination with the business development and technical pre-sales teams responsible for our strategic cloud provider and ISV partnerships to identify potential for repeatable and scalable go-to-market offerings. • Facilitate pre and post-sales activities including technical deep dives, proofs of concept, “bake-offs,” internal “DevOpsDays” events, virtualization roadshows, application portfolio reviews, etc. • Execute community outreach and customer advocacy activities.

• Design and implement features, bug fixes, and infrastructure automation for the GCP HCP platform using Go and Kubernetes • Work within an agent-augmented development workflow: decompose work into well-specified tasks, guide AI agents through implementation, and rigorously review agent-generated code and tests • Write and maintain custom linters, structural tests, and CI gate checks that enforce architectural boundaries and prevent drift — for both human and agent contributors • Contribute to the team's structured documentation system (design documents, architecture decision records, AGENTS.md context files) that serves as the source of truth for AI agents and humans alike • Build and maintain the observability, deployment pipelines, and automation that support multi-region managed OpenShift clusters on GCP • Participate in peer code reviews with a focus on correctness, security, and adherence to established architectural constraints • Own test strategy for the features you deliver — design test plans, write unit and integration tests, and ensure end-to-end coverage across the platform's multi-region architecture • Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems spanning GKE host clusters, HyperShift control planes, and customer workloads • Participate in on-call rotations to support production managed services • Mentor peers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in both technical craft and agent-augmented workflows
