Role Description The Enterprise Architect, Manufacturing Technology will play a critical role in modernizing and optimizing technology across Vantive’s global manufacturing footprint. This role is dedicated to manufacturing plants worldwide and works in close partnership with our Business and Manufacturing Relationship Managers (BRM/MRM) teams and plant leadership to build trusted relationships at the plant level and serve as the architectural point of accountability for manufacturing technology transformation. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy while remaining closely aligned with other Enterprise Architecture domains. It is ideally based in Europe and requires up to 50% travel in the first year; future travel will be driven by active initiatives. - Partner with BRMs/MRMs and plant managers to establish strong working relationships and assess current-state manufacturing IT landscapes. - Lead architectural planning for manufacturing software ecosystems including MES, ERP, SCADA/HMI, PLCs, OEE, QMS, Warehouse/logistics systems, quality, and plant integrations. - Identify technical debt, redundancy, and risk across plant environments and recommend remediation plans. - Define target-state architectures and multi-year roadmaps to modernize, consolidate, and optimize manufacturing technologies. - Determine on premise, hybrid, and cloud strategies appropriate for manufacturing operations. - Develop architectural standards for new manufacturing initiatives in alignment with enterprise goals. - Provide architectural guidance during execution phase of manufacturing initiatives. - Collaborate with peers in Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment with our global enterprise strategies. - Stay current on manufacturing IT and Industry 4.0 trends (IIoT, Digital twins, robotics, AI/ML, etc.). - Perform in-person architecture reviews of Vantive’s global manufacturing environments. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience. - Extensive experience in IT architecture with significant manufacturing or plant-based exposure. - Strong knowledge of manufacturing shop floor applications and integrations (MES, quality systems, plant integrations, laboratory equipment, PLCs, etc.). - Working knowledge of systems validation. - Experience with on prem and hybrid architectures; working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred). - Ability to engage effectively with plant leadership and business stakeholders across time zones. - Experience operating in complex, regulated, global environments. - Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. - Valid passport and ability to travel up to 50%.
