Insurance Billing/Collection Assistant II – Emergency Medicine

• Performs patient registration and follow-up on insurance billing and collection activities • Verifies accuracy and completeness of insurance records and claims • Makes collection calls to insurance companies and patients • Reviews remittance advises for rejection and accuracy of payment amounts • Contacts insurance companies regarding posting payments and collection agencies regarding payment reports • Supports customer service unit in answering billing and collection questions • Acts as back-up support for Accounts Receivable staff during peak times
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in Bookkeeping/Accounting and/or Medical Collection Setting
- Not applicable driver’s license required
- Skills in Collections Strategies, Communication, Computer Literacy, Confidential Data Handling, Medical Terminology, Office Equipment, Telephone System

About The Role Our Insurance Billing Specialists focus on keeping insurance billing moving by submitting claims, posting dental insurance payments, and working insurance aging reports for our customers. **🏢 Job Summary:** The **Billing Specialist (3 month contract) **is responsible for accurately preparing and processing invoices for clients based on contractual agreements. This role involves ensuring timely billing, resolving billing discrepancies, maintaining billing records and agreements, and providing support to internal and external clients. The Billing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes. Providing services in a proactive, professional manner while ensuring key parties are kept informed is critical. We are a data driven company and analysis for decision making and overall strategy is ongoing. **🔑 Key Responsibilities:** - Understand and follow the set of standards and processes that produce a predictable result for the client. You must be aware of and maintain our standards. - **Reviewing contracts: **Review contractual agreements to understand the billing terms, payment schedules, and invoicing requirements. - **Creating and sending invoices:** Create and send invoices to customers according to the billing terms outlined in the contractual agreements.
