QA Tester I

• Execute manual and automated test cases; document results with accuracy and traceability. • Identify, document, and track defects in Jira throughout the bug lifecycle. • Design, optimize, and expand test plans and test cases for new and existing features, leveraging AI-assisted tools where applicable. • Contribute to test planning and review sessions, including sprint and release planning. • Collaborate with developers to reproduce, investigate, and resolve reported issues. • Support shift-left practices by engaging early in requirements review and feature design. • Build and maintain test environments to support reliable and repeatable testing. • Work within an Agile/Scrum workflow, participating in daily standups and sprint ceremonies. • Continuously grow QA skills, with emphasis on automation, tooling, and AI-assisted testing techniques.
Job Requirements
- Basic understanding of software testing concepts (manual and introductory automation) including the SDLC and defect lifecycle
- Basic knowledge of test strategy fundamentals — including common testing types (functional, regression, smoke, integration, exploratory) and the principles of test coverage
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools (Jira preferred)
- Experience writing or maintaining test cases in a test management tool
- Familiarity with Linux environments and common command-line operations
- Exposure to containerized or virtualized test environments (e.g., Docker, VMs)
- Basic understanding of how APIs and web applications work
- Ability to follow and execute test plans while identifying opportunities to improve coverage or automate repetitive steps
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- A curious mindset with the ability and willingness to learn new technologies quickly
- Solid foundational problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and contribute to shared goals
- Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment with regular standups and sprint cycles
- Exposure to, or willingness to learn, test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar)
- Exposure to, or strong interest in, using AI tools to enhance productivity and testing workflows (e.g., Claude)
