IT Advisory Solution Architect

Zurich Insurance

Role Description Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks an IT Advisory Solution Architect to design, advise, and oversee modern, cloud-native enterprise solutions while coordinating with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure successful delivery. Specific duties include: - Architect end-to-end cloud-native and hybrid enterprise solutions on Azure Cloud PaaS. - Provide technical leadership in building microservice-based systems with .NET and Azure services. - Guide project teams across front-end, back-end, and database layers. - Define and implement DevOps strategies using Azure DevOps, TeamCity, and Octopus Deploy. - Collaborate with development teams to guide architecture decisions, software best practices, and delivery pipelines. - Coordinate with external vendors and service delivery partners. - Serve as a technical advisor in assessments and solution delivery. - Oversee solution delivery to ensure alignment with architectural vision, cost, and time estimates. Requires occasional travel within the U.S. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field of study. - 7 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Senior Consultant, Software Engineer, Software Programmer, or similar position in IT architecture, development, and solution design. Requirements - 7 years of experience working with each of the following: - Enterprise-grade solutions. - Designing and implementing Microservice Architecture solutions. - .NET application development. - 6 years of experience working with each of the following: - Azure Cloud PaaS. - Angular (TypeScript). - 5 years of experience working with each of the following: - Vendor/service management in a technical delivery context. - Designing messaging patterns and integration with message queues. - Azure DevOps tools for pipelines and automation. - 3 years of experience working with each of the following: - PowerShell scripting for cloud and infrastructure automation. - Azure Functions. - VNet. - Azure Storage Account configuration. - Azure Disk. - Azure SQL server. - Azure Resource Manager (ARM). - Azure monitoring and alerting frameworks. - GitHub and branch management strategies. - Presenting to senior leadership and business partners. - Managing technical delivery in multi-vendor environments. - Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S. - Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. Benefits - Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for employees and their families. - Short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases.
