Mainframe System Network Architect Location: Remote, United States Job Description: Location : Remote - Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future* Roles and responsibilities :- - 12+ year experience in managing the Mainframe System/Network. - Responsibilities will include Installation and Upgrading a z/OS environment, Customization, Problem Determination, Performance Analysis Tuning, Capacity Planning, and WLM for the IBM Mainframe z/Series z/OS Systems, Hardware Systems & Peripherals, z/Series based ISV (Independent Software Vendor) Software, and z/Series Network Communications. The ideal z/OS Systems Architect will interface with management and the technical staff to plan and prioritize project tasks in accordance with firms' departmental goals. - Responsible of planning and execution of Hardware and software upgrade projects including Datacenter move and exit plans. - Monitors system software access, performance, and resource utilization. - Primary responsibility for maintaining the z/OS and JES2/3 software environment. - Work with application programmers to ensure that application problems do not adversely affect production operations. - Assists with the analysis, design, programming, and implementation of client environments. - Develop/maintain/monitor proper software use and security authorization policies. - Creates, maintains, and upgrades operating system software for development and production environments. - Analyzes requirements and recommends policies, procedures, and standards for operating system software. - Implement and verifies backup and recovery procedures. This would include Business Recovery concerns and associated testing. - Accept ownership of all mainframe-based systems, including multiple z/OS Sysplexes and CFRM policies. - Install new z/OS releases as they become available, RSU maintenance and configure to support Customer/Client environments. - Keep supported systems current with the latest maintenance provided by IBM Maintain system reliability and ensure availability. - Be available after hours for emergencies or exceptional situations concerning the mainframe and mainframe-based systems. - Resolve any system-related problems that may arise in a timely and efficient manner. - Ability to install and customize IBM and third-party software using SMP/E & other installation programs. - Experience in keeping the z/OS hardware configuration current using IOCP and HCD. - Experience supporting leading/training of software management. - Ability to write/customize software exit program(s) and use software utilities as required. - Solid knowledge of mainframe JCL and utilities. - Ability to write/read/debug programs in a batch and online environment. - Demonstrate strong communication, documentation, coordination, problem-solving skills, and the ability to guide the team. Expert Level expertise :- Mainframe Networking Protocols (SNA, VTAM, TCP/IP) z/OS Systems Architecture & Sysplex Integration Enterprise Network Infrastructure & Security Salary and Other Compensation: The Salary for this position will be 99,000 to 116,000 early depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans. The role: SoFi’s Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) team is responsible for establishing the TPRM program framework and overseeing third-party relationships in alignment with the company’s risk appetite. The team manages risk, ensures compliance with regulatory guidance, and supports risk-informed business decision-making across the organization. The Enterprise TPRM Systems and Data Analytics Manager provides dedicated ownership of SoFi’s enterprise TPRM platforms and supporting tools. This role is responsible for driving platform effectiveness, advancing operational efficiency where feasible, enabling robust risk-based data architecture, and deriving actionable risk intelligence from raw data. The role also ensures that insights are delivered in a timely and reliable manner to decision-makers across the organization, directly supporting SoFi’s mission of helping members “get their money right” through the safe, compliant, and scalable delivery of financial products and services. What you’ll do: - Perform day-to-day system administration of the enterprise TPRM system of record and supporting platforms, including configuration, maintenance, user access management, internal support, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Develop and refine workflows within TPRM platforms to ensure consistent effectiveness while improving operational efficiency in support of business needs. - Design, build, and deliver data analytics reports and management dashboards using TPRM platforms in conjunction with Snowflake, Alteryx, and/or Tableau to provide timely, actionable insights. - Develop and maintain risk-based data architecture across TPRM platforms to maximize data integrity, usability, and insight generation. - Derive and distribute actionable risk intelligence from platform data to inform risk-based decision-making across the organization. - Lead process design and optimization initiatives, including the application of AI where appropriate, to enhance TPRM system capabilities and program outcomes. - Provide ongoing platform support, user training, and process enablement to promote effective adoption and utilization by cross-functional stakeholders. - Proactively monitor platform performance and data outputs to identify enhancement opportunities and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, insight quality, and overall TPRM program effectiveness, aligned with business needs, industry best practices, and SoFi’s risk appetite.
