Role Description This role is primarily remote in the state of California except for occasional required appearances. We have an exciting opportunity for a Workers' Compensation Attorney admitted and residing in California. You will be handling a caseload of workers’ compensation matters, conduct depositions, and represent Liberty Mutual and its policyholders at WC hearings. You will also interact with Liberty Mutual’s Workers’ Compensation claims organization. If requested, conduct settlement negotiations. - Advise, communicate and confer with Claims Representatives and Insured Clients, rendering clear, unambiguous legal opinions and advice. - Personally meet with and maintain good relations and communications with Claims Representatives and Insured Clients as required. - Remain current with developments in the law; understand medical, scientific, construction, products, engineering or similar issues and defenses involved with cases or matters. - Prepare and conduct training sessions for Legal, Claims or other departments as required. - Provide daily direction and guidance to junior attorneys. - Understand and creatively use technology; apply technology to the process of law to improve quality and reduce cost. - Act as a team or group leader for an assigned group handling workers compensation cases. - Interface with Home Office Legal department. Qualifications - Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB degree from an accredited law school. - Admission to the bar in California and in good standing; special licenses to practice before particular boards or federal courts may be required. - Minimum of 5 years of successful trial attorney experience, preferably within insurance law and related litigation. - Proven experience managing moderately complex litigation with demonstrated success in achieving favorable outcomes. - General knowledge of insurance law, and as necessary, workers’ compensation and/or No Fault law. - Exceptional legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills. - Proficient in advanced e-discovery tools, legal case management software, and remote collaboration technologies. - Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead junior attorneys and legal staff. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills. - Commitment to ethical legal practice and compliance with all regulatory and professional standards. Responsibilities - Review patient consultations, medical histories, and biomarkers and provide comprehensive advice both written and verbally. - Prescribe safely within your clinical competence, following established protocols. - Request further information when needed and document concise, compliant clinical notes. - Provide patient advice via chat, email or phone, and recommend next steps. - Support and guide pharmacist prescribers, ensuring consistently high clinical standards, and be a point of escalation for complex patients. - Ensure compliance with GMC, GPhC, and CQC regulations. - Contribute to audits, quality improvement, and development of digital clinical pathways. Qualifications - GMC-registered GP with a valid UK licence to practise. - Proven experience in primary care and telemedicine or digital health mandatory. - Strong understanding of GLP-1 agonist therapy, weight management, and other common direct-to-consumer treatment areas (e.g., hair loss). - Familiar with biomarkers beyond NHS scope. - Skilled at using technology to deliver care and communicate with patients, in both written and synchronous formats to deliver clear, patient-friendly medical advice. - Comfortable working autonomously within a bespoke digital platform and adhering to clinical governance frameworks; previous experience in a scale-up a bonus. - Curious about technology and how tools like AI can enhance patient care. - Committed to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement.
