Coinbase Canada seeks an Accounting and Regulatory Reporting Manager to join our Global Financial and Regulatory Reporting team. Reporting to the Director of Reporting and Technical Policy, you will serve as the primary Finance owner for all recurring regulatory filings, including Form 31-103F1, CIRO Form 1, and other OSC/CIRO submissions. This technical role involves maintaining IFRS books of account and collaborating with cross-functional teams (Tax, Treasury, Legal) to ensure capital adequacy. You will drive operational excellence by designing scalable processes, building robust internal controls, and automating reporting cycles for a high-growth tech environment. What you’ll be doing: - Overseeing the financial and regulatory reporting functions in Canada and ensuring these processes operate effectively and accurately, following the Coinbase centralized model, delivering accurate regulatory and financial insights into the business. - Own the Company’s parallel books of accounts maintained in line with IFRS and maintain appropriate reconciliations and valid support for all adjustments. - Own end-to-end preparation, review, and coordination of all recurring regulatory filings. - Responsible for preparation and coordination of financial statements, regulatory reporting, and other related information for external use (audit, submission to regulators, etc.), and play a leading role in external communication as the representative of the Finance department. - Preparation of Coinbase Canada monthly management reporting and analytical review thereof, including reporting and communication to the Board. - Acting as a contact point within the company for financial reporting queries and queries from regulatory authorities relating to the financial and regulatory reporting obligations of the firm. - Preparing and updating various finance policies and procedures. - Monitoring and overseeing the performance of outsourced services by outsourced service providers relating to the finance function and assessing KPIs and SLAs. - Active in Coinbase Canada liquidity management and coordinating closely with the treasury team. - Participating in critical projects, including the transitioning to new external vendors, integration, automation or enhancements. - Supporting ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned. What we look for in you: - 6+ years' experience as a regulatory reporting or finance professional at a bank, fin-tech, financial regulatory agency, securities dealer or investment dealer, and/or professional service firm serving financial institution clients. - 3+ years experience working in a regulated entity/environment, with direct involvement in the preparation or review of regulatory filings for a securities regulator (e.g., OSC, CIRO, IIROC, or equivalent). - Previous Board/senior management level experience, or demonstrated the ability to communicate directly to the Board/senior management. - CPA or equivalent required. - Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of business functions, with an emphasis on senior management and a track record of performing in a management role. Project management experience is essential. - Excellent oral and written communication – fluency in English is a key requirement. - Capacity to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards and effective time management. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment within a high growth business. - Strong knowledge and experience with IFRS. Expert knowledge of Canadian securities regulatory reporting requirements, including NI 31-103, Form 31-103F1, and familiarity with CIRO capital adequacy rules, is highly preferred. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. - Experience interacting directly with securities regulators (e.g., OSC, CIRO/IIROC, provincial securities commissions) or supporting regulatory examinations and inquiries. - Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human-in-the-loop practices to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.
