JOB SUMMARY & KEY PRIORITIES The Manager, Digital Media & Communications is a key driver of Active Minds’ day-to-day digital presence including social media strategy, long-form video creation, and paid advertising work, and communications including leading on blog, email, and newsletter strategy and execution. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Media & Communications, this role owns platform management, content calendars, publishing, and community interaction across Active Minds’ digital channels. This position plays a critical role in translating strategy into compelling, timely, and impactful digital content that reaches nearly half a million followers nationwide. For more than 20 years, we have equipped the next generation of peer mental health advocates through a variety of programs, including the Active Minds Chapter Network, A.S.K., and Send Silence Packing. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Platform & Content Management - Develop and implement a content strategy, created in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Digital Media & Communications, to guide both the digital and communications teams to success.  - Lead on the planning, creation, scheduling, and publishing of content aligned with organizational priorities and campaigns on social media and communications channels including newsletter, blog, and emails.  - Oversee the daily management of Active Minds’ digital presence including all social media and communications work, including overseeing content created by a team containing 2 Senior Associates and 2 Associates. Content Creation & Campaign Support - Produce mutually supporting social media and communications content that drives growth, reach, and engagement.  - Create thoughtful, strategic long-form video content including the production of Webinars, podcasts, and video series as needed.  - Support major organizational campaigns and programs, including Conference, A.S.K., Send Silence Packing®, Cause + Career, youth leadership advocacy programs, and others. - Develop digital toolkits and shareable assets for partners, chapters, and stakeholders. - Oversee and support content creation from various perspectives, roles, and voices representing different stakeholders and audiences, for overall communication efforts.  Paid Social & Performance Tracking - Lead on and execute paid social media campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok. - Track engagement, growth, and performance metrics, contributing to campaign reporting and insights. - Manage internal digital & communications campaign recaps as well as organizational project debriefs.  - Monitor trends and flag opportunities or challenges to senior leadership. ABOUT YOU - Highly organized, creative, and strategic. - Comfortable managing multiple platforms and deadlines. - Experienced in managing a team.  - Belief that equity and social justice are important and driven to hear, reflect, and act on this belief. - Passion for youth mental health and digital storytelling. You need to have: - 4-6 years of experience in digital or social media marketing. - 2+ years of people management experience.  - Experience managing professional social media accounts. - Strong writing and communication skills. - Familiarity with online tools and platforms including Sprout Social, WordPress, and ClickUp (project management tool). - Experience with Adobe Suite and video editing skills are preferred.  COMPENSATION  This position offers an initial salary of $65,000 along with robust benefits. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. Candidates whose experience meets both the minimum and preferred qualifications may be considered for a starting salary that exceeds the current amount. The role sits within Active Minds Level 3 salary band, and as such, has the potential to grow to $92,000 over time. FLSA Status: Exempt. Primary Role The Parkinson’s Foundation is seeking a strategic and driven Senior Director to lead communications for the Foundation’s public policy efforts. As a key member of the growing Public Policy team, and working closely with the communications team, this individual will develop and execute a strategic communications plan to advance the Foundation’s policy goals, increase advocacy and engagement among the Foundation’s extensive network of volunteers, and establish the Foundation as a key player in the policy space. This individual will work closely with the Public Policy and Communications teams to maximize key policy moments and create proactive campaigns to increase awareness around the Foundation’s public policy agenda and drive policy outcomes. This role requires cross-collaboration across internal teams and external partners, strong writing skills, and experience in policy communications.  Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: - Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a communications strategy to advance the Foundation’s policy goals on federal and state levels, support volunteer advocacy, and elevate the brand recognition of the Foundation’s policy work. Develop and manage a content calendar to advance key policy goals, in coordination with the organization’s overarching content calendars.   - Content Development: Develop policy communications materials for both traditional and social media content, including press releases, blog posts, webpage content, media toolkits, social media posts, calls to action, advocacy materials for volunteers, talking points, and other press materials for Foundation staff, surrogates, and advocates.  - Rapid Response: Develop and execute a rapid response program for key policy moments, including identifying and preparing for potential scenarios, drafting and disseminating materials, and coordinating with aligned organizations. - Advocacy and Events: Strategic communications support for state and federal advocacy days, including pre-event, live, and post-event materials. Develop messaging guidance and content tailored for media engagement during advocacy events. Integrate stories of people with PD and caregivers into policy communications materials. - Local Chapter and Volunteer Activation: Develop materials for local PF chapters and volunteers to engage in policy advocacy at the state and federal levels, including talking points, templates, and toolkits. Work directly with local chapters to support policy communications efforts as needed. - Media Outreach: Develop and execute a media outreach strategy focused on policymakers, health policy partners, and other relevant stakeholders. Conduct targeted outreach to policy-focused media and influencers. Assist the Foundation with strengthening relationships with health policy reporters. Support digital advocacy planning and media buys. Respond to media inquiries and prepare Foundation staff for policy-related media interviews. - Brand and Messaging Consistency: Coordinate with the Foundation’s communications team to ensure brand and message consistency across policy communications content. Experience/Skills Required - Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field.  - 7+ years of experience in policy communications, advocacy, or media relations, which can include work on Capitol Hill, a state legislature, or in a federal agency. - Demonstrated ability to analyze and translate complex policy issues for a wider, general public audience. - Strong interpersonal skills with experience building and managing relationships with reporters, external partner staff, and/or advocates.  - Track record of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. - Deep policy media relationships, particularly in the federal health policy space, as well as policymakers to influence policy outcomes. - Experience working with external vendors on communications campaigns. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Communications Manager (Full-Time) COMPANY: Southeastern Wind Coalition The Southeastern Wind Coalition (SEWC) is a non-profit coalition working with industry, academia, partner NGOs, government, and utilities to advance the land-based and offshore wind industry in the Southeastern U.S. We take a business-minded and economically focused approach to building the case for wind energy, including the wind supply chain. Long Term - Represent SEWC at a variety of speaking engagements, conferences, events, meetings with decision makers, etc. to speak on wind technology, economic benefits, and local opportunities with authority. - Contribute to strategic planning and development with the SEWC leadership team. Be able to think critically and participate in high-level discussions about state, regional, and industry needs. - Identify and lead potential new initiatives to advance wind energy across the Southeast. QUALIFICATIONS MUST HAVES - Minimum 4 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or community engagement work. - Experience developing, executing, tracking, and optimizing communications strategies. - Proficiency with digital marketing, including ad placement, targeting, optimization, and analysis (Google Workspace experience preferred). - Proficiency with graphic design tools, such as Canva. - Be a team player who can lead without direct authority, work within a small and driven team, and encourage/inspire staff. - A passion for seeing the clean energy industry grow and a strong drive to contribute to SEWC’s success. - Very strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, work effectively from home, and maintain a positive attitude. - The candidate must be a self starter and be able to provide examples of proactive thinking and initiatives.
