There is opportunity to research emerging technology/applications in the data center market to help ensure Gates is staying ahead of market trends. - Providing engineering support to customers and clients in the proper application and selection of data center products in our Industrial Replacement Market. - Work with customers like Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) contractors to determine application requirements, selecting components, and making recommendations to meet system requirements for data centers. - Effectively present technical material and collaborate with internal/external customers. - Working cooperatively with North American Field Sales, Product Line Managers, and Marketing teams to achieve organizational success. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree plus 5+ years of progressive engineering experience, required. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. - Experience in HVAC or MEP industry is a plus. - Engineering discipline with a focus on Mechanical, Thermodynamics, or Fluid Power systems, preferred. - Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to manage customer personalities effectively. - Eager to be hands-on working with our customers, engineers, sales, and marketing teams! - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. - Excellent written and verbal skills - coupled with the ability to maintain and generate product application literature, media, and technical articles. - Ability to travel to customers, plants, and conferences as required (minimum 30%). - Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize resources and project timelines. - Proficient in Microsoft Office products. - Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship. • Work closely with the Sales team during customer meetings to present and promote our energy stability and grid utility solutions. • Review and interpret customer specifications in order to propose the best possible solution based on our portfolio of structured solutions and products for Front End Engineering projects and new equipment services. • Prepare clear and concise technical proposals, including any deviations from customer requirements. • Travel within France and internationally for short periods to visit customers during tender processes or upstream phases, understand and analyze their needs, and present our solutions. • Lead technical negotiation meetings with customers. • Prepare cost estimates for the proposed customer solutions with the support of key contributors such as Procurement and Engineering. • Optimize costs by challenging contributors both technically and financially, and by optimizing the proposed solutions. • Meet tender submission deadlines as closely as possible. • Provide technical expertise and support to Sales Managers and Commercial Operations teams by selecting, implementing, and developing competitive solutions. • Identify technical risks and work with Engineering to mitigate them in line with GE procedures. • Proactively stay informed about market trends and requirements, and act as the “voice of the customer” to strategically influence GE’s product/system development needs.
