Job Description

Payroll Specialist

B Consulting

• Support end-to-end U.S. payroll processing across multiple startup clients • Assist with payroll data entry, payroll audits, and payroll reconciliation support • Validate employee deductions, payroll changes, bonuses, commissions, and reimbursements • Support payroll setup and termination processing for new hires and departing employees • Support payroll-related benefits deductions and contribution tracking for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans • Assist with payroll tax reporting, filings, and year-end documentation support (W-2s, 1099s) • Support payroll-related equity compensation reporting and payroll events • Assist with payroll accrual reporting and month-end close support • Maintain payroll records, documentation, and internal controls • Work within payroll systems including Gusto, Rippling, Justworks, Deel, ADP, or similar platforms • Identify opportunities to improve payroll workflows and operational efficiency • Partner closely with Payroll Operations, HR, and Accounting teams to support accurate and timely payroll operations

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll, HR operations, or payroll administration experience
  • Experience supporting U.S. payroll operations preferred
  • Experience supporting multiple clients, entities, or business units
  • Experience with payroll systems such as Gusto, Rippling, Justworks, Deel, or similar platforms
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Role Description HR & Payroll Specialist performs all life-cycle payroll transactions and activities to ensure the processing of an accurate and timely payroll. Displays decision-making skills that support company and payroll policies. - Independently process Swiss payroll from end to end according to the defined standards and client requirements including all associated payroll tasks. - Monitor and manage ticket queues using the appropriate tools to ensure tickets are handled per the defined timelines and do not exceed expected thresholds. - Identify deviations from the standard scope of service and act accordingly including the identification and support of change request opportunities. - Recognize and deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information. - Produce and understand standard and client specific payroll reports including statutory year end reporting needs. - Review and validate data for accuracy and completeness and initiates corrections per the defined standards. - Answer Swiss payroll related questions and requests. - Provide clear knowledge transfers to peers. - Support and manage system maintenance testing. - Support technical issue coordination and resolution. - Maintain current knowledge of legislation requirements; system updates, changes and overall payroll procedures. Qualifications - Very good English skills (B2 minimum). - Around 2-3 years relevant experience administering Payroll in an HR consulting, HR Outsourcing or Corporate environment. - Strong knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Strong knowledge of the various inputs and outputs such as third party interfaces, timekeeping, tax filing/compliance, benefits and other key areas that integrate with payroll. - Ability to identify and mitigate risks. - Flexibility to support a global and fast paced environment. - Attention to detail. - Excellent written and verbal skills. - Self-motivated and a willingness to learn. - Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, as well as independently while adhering to processes and procedures.
