Role Description The Vice President, Data & Artificial Intelligence Engineering provides executive leadership for Duck Creek Technologies’ enterprise data, artificial intelligence (AI), and generative AI (GenAI) capabilities. This role is responsible for defining and executing the strategy for AI engineering, machine learning, and enterprise data platforms to support innovation across Duck Creek’s SaaS products and internal operations. The role ensures responsible AI practices, strong data governance, and scalable platform capabilities while advancing Duck Creek’s enterprise AI transformation. - Define and execute the enterprise strategy for AI, generative AI, machine learning, and data platforms in alignment with corporate technology and product strategies. - Lead the development and operation of scalable enterprise data platforms that enable analytics, AI, and intelligent product capabilities. - Oversee AI and GenAI engineering initiatives, including model development, deployment, and lifecycle management. - Establish and scale enterprise capabilities for machine learning operations (MLOps), model governance, and AI platform reliability. - Direct the design and implementation of modern data architecture supporting data integration, data products, and analytics delivery. - Lead global teams across data engineering, AI engineering, analytics, and AI platform engineering. - Align AI and data initiatives with product development, cloud strategy, and enterprise architecture to ensure integrated technology delivery. - Drive the integration of AI-powered capabilities across Duck Creek’s SaaS solutions to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. - Establish enterprise standards for responsible AI, data governance, privacy, and security. - Define operating models, KPIs, and performance metrics to ensure disciplined execution and measurable outcomes for AI and data initiatives. - Ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency of data and AI platforms supporting global SaaS operations. - Serve as an executive advisor and thought leader on AI and data strategy to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree and/or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. - 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in software engineering, data engineering, artificial intelligence, or platform engineering. - 7+ years of experience leading large technical organizations responsible for enterprise data platforms, analytics, or AI systems. - Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-scale data platforms and production AI or machine learning solutions within SaaS or cloud-based environments. - Experience leading globally distributed engineering organizations and managing senior technical leaders. - Proven experience aligning advanced technology initiatives with enterprise architecture and product strategies. Requirements - Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. - Experience leading generative AI initiatives and deploying AI-enabled capabilities within enterprise software products. - Experience in insurance technology, financial services, or highly regulated enterprise software industries. - Experience building AI and data capabilities in a cloud-native SaaS environment.
