Senior Design Engineer

Role Description As a Senior Design Engineer (EIT) at Torus, you will be instrumental in creating plan sets and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure we deliver customer value quickly and with accuracy. You will manage the plan set creation processes, oversee 90% and IFC designs in collaboration with engineering teams, and utilize tools like Aurora and Autodesk Forma to optimize layouts for renewable energy storage systems. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, responsiveness, and clear communication as technical information is conveyed across multiple teams. - Oversee and manage system designs using Autodesk Forma, Aurora, and other industry-standard tools. - Coordinate with third-party engineering firms to develop and refine 90% and IFC designs. - Ensure all designs meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and installation feasibility. - Provide support to internal teams by offering design insights and modifications as needed. - Maintain organized documentation of design processes and revisions. - Track important KPI’s such as delivery time, plan accuracy, and redlines. - Manage multiple projects at any given time, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining quality of the deliverables and communication to all parties involved. - Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Math, Science, or a related field or a combination of relevant experience and/or education. - 5+ years of experience in system design within the renewable energy storage sector. - Engineer-in-Training certification. - Proficiency in design and construction software such as Aurora, Solo, Autodesk Forma, Autodesk Fusion, Procore, or similar. - Demonstrated leadership experience with the desire to grow into a team lead role. - Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate with external partners. - Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality designs. - Strong background with regulatory code such as NEC, NFPA, IBC, IFC, and related. Preferred Experience - Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks. - Familiarity with sizing conductors and breakers. - Interest in pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license. - NABCEP Board Certification. Requirements - All candidates are subject to a background check. - This is a remote position based in the US requiring occasional travel to Utah for team meetings and in-person collaboration. - Full-Time, Salaried. - Compensation: $80,000 - 120,000 (Note: We have the flexibility to hire at different levels, which may impact the corresponding pay range.) - Applicants must already have the legal authorization to work in the US without requiring any employer sponsorship. - Constantly operates a computer and other peripheral office equipment such as a printer or mouse. - Ability to communicate information so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. - Must report to work reliably and with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job. - Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required. - When on the production floor, required to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to ear protection, gloves, eye protection, and/or safety helmet. - When on the production floor, ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.
