Engineer II, Systems Integration
NIGHTINGALE EDUCATION LLC SOLE MB
Role Description The hands-on technical backbone of Nightingale College’s integration engineering function within Data & Technology. You’ll independently build and maintain the integrations and data pipelines that connect Banner, Salesforce, Snowflake, and other campus systems. You take ownership of increasingly complex work, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor the Engineer I while growing toward more architectural responsibilities. Integration Development & Delivery - Build and maintain integrations between Banner, Salesforce, Snowflake, and other campus systems using Ethos APIs, Data Connect, and custom API development. - Develop, test, and deploy API-based data flows, event-driven integrations, and scheduled data synchronization processes. - Troubleshoot and resolve production integration failures, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive fixes. - Manage integration deployments with proper testing, change management, and rollback planning. Data Pipeline & Warehouse Development - Build and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines that move data between source systems and Snowflake, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness. - Develop and optimize SQL transformations, stored procedures, and data models within Snowflake. - Implement data quality checks and automated validation within pipelines to catch issues before they reach downstream consumers. - Maintain comprehensive documentation of pipeline architecture, data lineage, and integration specifications. Collaboration & Mentorship - Partner with platform administration teams (Banner, Salesforce) as the data team’s integration point of contact for CRM-side and ERP-side configuration support. - Collaborate with the analytics team to ensure data models and pipeline outputs support reporting and dashboard requirements. - Mentor Systems Integration Engineer I on development practices, troubleshooting techniques, and integration patterns. - Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field. - 3–5 years of experience in data engineering, integration development, or systems integration. - Strong SQL proficiency including complex queries, performance optimization, and data transformation. - Hands-on experience building API-based integrations (REST, webhooks, event-driven patterns). - Experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouse platforms including data modeling and ELT pipeline development. - Working knowledge of Ellucian Ethos and Data Connect or willingness to learn quickly. - Proficiency with Python or JavaScript for data engineering and automation tasks. - Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices for integration deployments. - Familiarity with higher education data systems (Banner, Salesforce Education Cloud) preferred. - Previous remote work experience required.
