Role Description This is a remote position. Math Specialist – Part-Time Position - No papers to grade. Bathroom breaks at will. - Skip the drama and do all your favorite parts of teaching! - We're seeking to hire experienced elementary teachers for part-time opportunities here at Made for Math. - These are long-term positions for a growing company; we are not looking for contract or summer-only workers! Made for Math™ is an all-online math intervention service for families with students that have dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and autism. We are dedicated to getting our students results and know that the work we do is life-changing for our students. You'll know this is the right position for you if: - You're a research and pedagogy nerd. - You like the idea of learning new software, as well as jumping in and finding answers independently. - You want to learn the structured and systematic math method to help students reach their highest potential. - You love to solve the puzzle of a student who doesn't learn like anyone else. - When reading this list you thought of it as a checklist to cross off and that made you happy. Here is what your work will look like: - Meet with students in 25 to 55-minute sessions weekly. - Work primarily in the afternoons and evenings (Hours are Monday-Thursday from 1 PM - 8 PM Pacific Time). - Assess student’s starting point using our game-centered assessment. - Curate lesson plans tailored to your students. - Track student progress and email parents to communicate progress. - Attend team meetings (Mondays at 1 PM Pacific Time and other times as arranged). This is a W-2 position. We will pay you as you train and learn our systematic and structured Math ways! Pay is $22.50 per hour. Although this is a remote, work-from-home job, we only hire in these states: - Arizona - Florida - Idaho - South Carolina - Texas - Utah - Washington Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or other Education related fields. - Good communication skills with parents. - Patient and can adjust to the mood of the student. - Able to teach in a fun and enthusiastic way while also keeping the lesson clutter-free. - Have at least 2+ years of teaching experience. - Must be able to work a minimum of 14 hours with students per week. - You are paid for lesson planning/admin time for a total of 21 hours per week.
