About the Role: We're a high-growth fintech building our accounting function from the ground up. We're looking for a Senior Accounting Manager who combines deep technical accounting expertise with a builder's mindset - someone who doesn't just maintain the books, but actively shapes the systems, processes, and controls that will scale with the business. This is an individual contributor role on a lean team, reporting directly to the Controller. What You’ll Do: Operations - Accounts payable, accruals, and payroll end-to-end (Deel, Rippling, Brex). - 1099 preparation and vendor compliance. - Process documentation and ongoing optimization across the accounting function. You're tech-forward and comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day work, with a clear-eyed understanding of where they add value and where they fall short. - Self-directed and collaborative. You drive workstreams end-to-end without hand-holding, and know when to bring others in. - Detail-obsessed and action-oriented. You own accuracy, balance speed with controls, and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves on a lean team. What You’ll Need: - 7+ years of well-rounded accounting experience spanning public accounting (Big 4 or similar) and high-growth startups. - CPA required. - Deep command of core accounting processes: close, AP, accruals, amortization, GL, reconciliations, reporting, and controls. - Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting. - Solid understanding of revenue accounting principles (ASC 606), and loan accounting (ASC 310). - Proven experience implementing or migrating an ERP, with strong fluency in how accounting systems should be structured to scale. - Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUPs, pivot tables); comfortable working with large datasets, data flows, and identifying root causes of discrepancies. - Experience managing or supporting financial audits as a primary contact or key contributor. Nice to Have: - SQL experience or willingness to learn. - Experience in fintech or lending. - FP&A experience (forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling).
