• Lead end-to-end program management for complex, multi-team technical initiatives. • Define and maintain program roadmaps, milestones, and success metrics. • Serve as the primary point of coordination between engineering teams, product, security, project managers, and business stakeholders. • Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions, design reviews, and executive status briefings. • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate program risks and dependencies. • Drive alignment on priorities and trade-offs across competing team needs. • Partner with engineering leads to ensure technical designs, architecture decisions, and delivery plans are realistic. • Collaborate with security teams to embed security and compliance requirements into program planning and delivery processes. • Establish, improve, and scale program management frameworks, processes, and tooling. • Maintain a high-level strategic vision across programs. • Track and report on program health using defined KPIs and OKRs. • Partner closely with the Project Management Office (PMO).
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in technical program management
- Strong foundational understanding of software engineering principles, system design, infrastructure concepts, and data engineering practices
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent programs in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Experience working directly with security, compliance, or risk teams to incorporate requirements into program delivery.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience leading without direct authority
- Proficiency with program and project management tools
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and/or other delivery methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field — or equivalent practical experience.

The Team: Pinterest Technical Program Managers at this level are proactive owners with deep technical and strategic expertise. They are aligned to the highest level company priorities, leading impactful teams of senior managers and ICs responsible for cross-org large-scope programs or products. The Pinner Journeys & Belonging pillar is a single, senior pillar owning end-to-end Core experiences. This team defines the operating system for Pinterest’s most critical product and technology areas, directly impacting company-level OKRs. What you’ll do: - Lead an impactful team of senior TPMs and ICs responsible for cross-org, large-scope programs that connect Core, M10n, and Platforms. - Set a clear strategy and vision for the Pinner Journeys & Belonging function, providing thought leadership and influencing the business and potential regulatory issues that might impact Pinterest. - Be accountable for stitching together user journeys (Personalization, Search, Assistant, etc.) to land as coherent, end-to-end experiences, with top line metrics as the primary north-star metric for journey quality. - Drive alignment of resource planning across multiple organizational units with strategic business objectives, engaging with executive leadership to prioritize resource needs. - Ensure that qualified successors are identified for key functional roles, creating a culture that emphasizes constructive feedback, ongoing learning, and equitable development across the team. - Lead the emerging UX Quality agenda across Pinner Journeys, integrating accessibility, inclusive product, and wellbeing into Core journeys as P0 responsibilities. - Follow Pinterest AI guidance for risk, governance, and safety-by-design: appropriately handle sensitive data, validate AI-generated outputs, document assumptions/limits, and ensure AI-assisted workflows meet applicable policy/compliance expectations before broad adoption. What we’re looking for: - 10+ years of experience as a technical program manager, or related experience, leading multiple company-level programs that impact multiple company OKRs. - 2-5+ years of management experience, with a proven ability to lead an impactful team of senior managers and ICs. - A leader who navigates uncertain situations, provides direction and frameworks to the function, and conveys stability in evolving or uncertain times. - Expertise in building tracking mechanisms to create an environment of accountability for the working team's progression. - Strong ability to move the function forward through a mature decision-making process, willingly making tough trade-offs on behalf of the organization. - A leader who fosters a culture that supports people taking well-reasoned risks in service of creating value for Pinners. - Proven strength in engaging with executive leadership to provide strategic guidance, with polished communication skills and thought leadership. - Demonstrated experience as a power user and extender of an A/B testing / experimentation platform (e.g., internal or external tools, homegrown experiment frameworks, etc.). This includes shaping schemas and workflows, defining launch/guardrail standards, and building automation on top of the platform (e.g., Python/SQL scripts, dashboards, anomaly/holdout reports, and launch-review summaries) so it becomes the single source of truth for “what shipped, what moved the metrics, and why. - AI-first execution mindset: demonstrated ability to use GenAI to accelerate planning, program operations, and stakeholder communications—starting with AI drafts and applying strong judgment to validate, refine, and drive decisions. - Workflow design, AI fluency, data & insights orientation: experience turning repeatable program work into durable, low-toil mechanisms and improving decision-making by using GenAI (e.g., strong prompting, vibe coding lightweight scripts/tools, dashboards, data analysis and leveraging agents where appropriate). - Safety-by-design AI fluency: experience operating within AI governance expectations (risk assessment, data handling, model/output validation, auditability/traceability) and proactively identifying where AI use is not appropriate or requires additional controls. - BS in Engineering or CS or equivalent work experience. Role Description We are looking for a Program Manager to manage and oversee large programs from initiation to closure, ensuring delivery within defined timelines, budget, and scope.
